Default 2008 wrx sedan daytime running lights

i have a 2008 wrx and as soon as i put the key in the ignition the lights go on. im trying to put HID's in and i dont want them to stay on all the time.I read in some other fourms that you can find the grey box under the air box and pull the wire on that but it doesnt work. does anyone have this issue? please help!!!

If you put HID for your high beams that's where the DTRL are at the light won't turn on because the blast will not be getting enough power to enable the DTRL. I had HID for high beams and the DTRL never worked because not sufficient power to the blast to power the HID. Hope this helps if not I would say connect your HID and you'll see what I'm talking about..

Theres a DIY on how to properly disable the DTRL. Its somewhere in this section of the forum too. Just search. Its behind the glove box and its a yellow connector. You disconnect that and should be good to go from what I understand.
