Default Opinions on severity of chip on case

Just looking for opinions on if y'all think this chip will be an issue during my build. I bought the block from a member here a few months back and just noticed the chip recently. I'm not very worried about it as it appears to be purely cosmetic damage but a friend of mine said his buddy had seen damage like this before and said I'd have big problems with headstuds or headgaskets sealing or something. I don't see any sense in that as the chipped portion isn't really a critical sealing surface and also is on the bearing side of the case halves, not the deck side but perhaps y'all know something about this type of damage that I don't. Thanks for any help you guys may be able to offer.

I would roll with it on a budget build if the break is just from trying to get the case split.

It's not a problem but make sure that dowel is not bent. You should torque the halves and measure #1 main with a bore gage to see if they align still.

Also my thought. Seems from other people's opinions so far the main concern is the alignment of the mains and the concern that the halves will be able to move slightly under load and when at operating temp. Seems like getting it welded would be the best course of action.
