Was about to leave my apartment complex when a neighbor walks out:

Him: Hey I have a BOV from my mazda 6, it'll fit your WRX
Me: I don't have a turbo =(, it's an RS with a Borla exhaust
Him: Sounds mean, thought you had a turbo
Me: I wish...some day though

I guess +1 for the exhaust but -100 for me lol

My buddy's rs sounds meaner than any wrx/sti i've heard. Not having a turbo to spin makes them sound beast.

I have the same coworker a ride to work and passed another Subaru on the way and we waved at each other and he goes "what the f*** was that?" I said " it's a Subaru thing, you wouldn't understand."

Had my best friends sti (I drive a wrx) for a date when my car was getting a new clutch and flywheel,
Chick says "oh are these for stepping on to help you get in the car?" (Pointing at side skirt)

I start laughing.

Her "what's funny?"
Me "nothing, just don't step on it haha."

Driving my wrx to Tahoe for snowboarding with a buddy and two girls
Guy: so this car is all wheel drive right we don't need chains?"

Me: yup

Girl 1: wait aren't all cars all wheel drive?

Me:no....?

Girl 1: but all the wheels drive on every car I've ever seen

I was speechless. My buddy just laughed

Girl 2 said what is funny about that she makes sense

I just turned the music up and didnt say a word.

Can't make this stuff up people

I gotta ask about this Subaru wave I've read about... Is it some special sort of wave or what?

Do you just wave at another Subaru driver or are there special "movements" involved?

I've only had my WRX for a couple weeks and I have only seen 1 other Subaru in my city, they're not very popular here.

I've had all sorts of cars/motorcycles where people driving the same vehicle will wave, but I keep reading "it's a Subaru thing!"

Not unique to subaru, I think it's most associated with "it's a jeep thing, you wouldn't understand"

The wave is just kind of bending your hand upward, maybe while still having your palm/wrist on the steering wheel, more of an acknowledgment than a wave.

I think it's pretty unique among tuner imports. Most evo owners just dont seem as nice, and most everything else is just too common to have something like that.

I'm a nerd then :P I'll full on wave, sometimes full arm out the window :P usually a peace sign though.

But I also give a thumbs up to any car that I think is nicely done, or anyone who waves at me.

Sometimes it gets me funny looks, but oh well.
Vw's, jeeps, MR2's and motorcycles all wave at each other too :P

I needed to replace a bolt I broke off while replacing the front calipers on my wife's WRX wagon. I made the mistake of thinking I could find a replacement at a hardware store. I stopped at a Gilroy's Hardware and a young man took me to the aisle with the bolts, matched up the thread and size, and sent me on my way. Before I left the parking lot I tested it in the new caliper, it was slightly too large so I took it back in. The young man was a little confused by this, so I mentioned that it was for a car so it might be a one-off or something. He first thought it was a metric bolt, and when I told him it was for a Subaru he said something to the effect of, "Well, Subaru's are an Australian car company, so they should use standard..." (although they use the metric system). I paused, held down a chuckle and replied, "No actually Subaru is a Japanese company." Without taking his eyes away from the old bolt he said "Are you sure?" I again held back a smirk and said "Absolutely..... Fuji Heavy Industries." Still searching for the unicorn bolt he simply shrugged...

Damn Outback nameplate lol.

So, you don't know what CCs are? I'll give you a hint, it's almost 1000 CCs/Liter. Way to be a dick to someone with a valid question.

I was taking a girl home from a party last night and she asked me "is this thing a hybrid?"
Nope.
At least she was cute.
