Post 0-60 mph in 5.6 secs good for an Impreza?

Just to see how fast I could get my to 60 I brought it onto a long empty road and took off from a dead stop.
Hit the stop watch (Yes I wish I had a G-Tech) and I was past 60 mph at the 5.6 mark (approx. 63mph)
Is that good for a 1997 2.2 liter L? The only performance mod is a JCSports intake.

Is it just me or does that seem way to fast for a 2.2L !

Dead serious, good day for my car, good gas I'm not really sure.
I was just fired up after some jackass in a CRX was tailing me, so I turned off and ripped through my gears to see if I coulda smoked his ass if it came down to it.

Anyone have a G-tech so I can see if maybe I'm a retard or not?

dude, im sorry, but thats even a good 0-60 time for a WRX. 2.2L impreza's tend to get to 60 in the low 9's. your stop watch is broken or something. 5.6s is IMPOSSIBLE. your talking RX-7TT/M3 E36/94 Z28/WRX terriroty there. not even a 2.5RS can break into the 6's stock. even if your car was completetly stripped that time wouldnt be possible.
youd need ATLEAST 10psi of boost to be clickin off those kinda of times in 2.2L impreza.

Hmmmm...Not likely at all...My MY00 does 0-60 in 6.8 best and 7.2 worse...I have a JCSports intake and 2.5" cat-back exhaust. Sorry dude, no way you could have made that with an N/A.

I know my 2.2 impreza will do 0-60 in just under 9 seconds. Somedays a little better but barely, and rarely, and only when I abuse the snot out of the clutch. Perhaps you should look for the nitrous bottle somebody stuck on it.

oops. i forgot to add 4 seconds for stupidity.

Sorry. That is just impossible. Not happening. Stock 2.5rs is 8.0 you're probably in the 9.6 range. Unless you have some type of honda induction system that adds about 40-55 Hp at the wheels.

just had to reply. I have a 95 Impreza L with a 2.2 automatic. I have never done a stop watch test but I have ALWAYS said something was diffrent about this car-as far as quickness. it's a rocket! I also have a 97 legacy GT auto thats a real slug next to my impreza. Anytime I have loaned out my car they return it saying "is that a 6cyl in this thing?"

Heck yeah that's Z28 territory. In my Z28, WITH my G-tech I clicked off a 4.5 second 0-60 time. That was on the strip with slicks, mind you. And wait, oh yeah..this is a Subaru forum...ummm... I love my Scooby.

come on guys, lay off. it sounds like he honestly didn't know what to expect - it's not like he came on here saying "hey my 2.2L Impreza L can stomp all of you 'cause it goes 5.6 secs 0-60!" or something like that..

let's see *you* time 0-60 accurately with a stopwatch while you shift gears at the same time. i think he's gotten the point that he's mistaken by now - does everyone need to get the last word in edgewise?

Thats a good time if your only mod is an intake AND turbo.

Time yourself again. Try using a watch or timer that counts down (backwards) instead.

You will need at lease 200hp to accelerate that fast.

Lightbulb

Turn your G-Tech off kph mode.

0-60kph should come at around 5.6seconds for an L.

0-96kph in a shade under 10 seconds.

Oh wait, you used a stopwatch not a G-Tech? Not sure how you got that time. Have a friend time it for you next time... maybe you inadvertantly hit it too early or went over to a lap mode?

he has a 97, not a 95. clue us in on how you shifted and looked at the watch at the same time. unless you are an auto it would be real hard to do.
