How many miles on your car? What does the Kelly Blue Book web site say your car is worth if you sold it privately?

Do you need to have owned the car for a year in order to get the guaranteed trade in? Says not available for me, and end of May would be 1 year for me

I think that's true. My car will be one year old on 6/22, and I'm not seeing a GTP quote yet either.

Anyone thinking of using Subaru's Guaranteed Trade-in Program should read this page very carefully:

http://www.subaru.com/finance-center...igibility.html

There are many ways in which Subaru can disqualify a car. For example:

"Vehicles that have been altered from their original design specification in any manner. These alterations include, but are not limited to exhaust system, turbo or engine components, tire, wheel, suspension, powertrain performance, and aftermarket accessory installations, etc."

Not that I'm planning to GTP my car, but right there it would be disqualified unless I undo my head unit replacement, rear sway bar, short shifter, leather steering wheel wrap and leather shift knob, and so on. Not a big deal, I guess, but annoying just the same.

Regardless, I'm confident I could get more $$$ for my car doing a private sale than GTP through Subaru. They know how to ensure their own profits, at my expense. No thanks.

For example, KBB says my Impreza Sport Premium is worth $19k if I sell it myself, and $18k if I trade it in. But my experience is that dealers always offer less than what KBB suggests when trading in, which is why I sell my cars myself.

If I owned mine outright it would be gone tomorrow and I'd buy an old volvo beater.

Same r32 that you have been talking about for a year? It's still there? What does that tell you about it if it is the same one

Its only certain ones made from a certain factory... the dealer told me that there is an updated block that came out, so if you're getting 2013 then you should be fine

That's great man! Congrats. I'm actually a little jealous. I really wanted a WRX to begin with, but couldn't quite afford it so I settled for the Impreza sport.

Right on! Thanks for the update, put my mind at ease. Sounds like Subaru fixed the problem fast.

Not really^
There HAVE been 13's with oil loss issues too. I wouldnt just go on what a dealer said. I've heard dealers tell outright lies plenty of times.
By most accounts, Subaru doesnt even know why the cars with Fb's may end up burning oil.
If they all did, then we would know by now.
Your chances of getting a good one are probably better than with some other mskes, so if you want one go get it. But if I had to do it all over again I would go to a GOOD dealer like Mastro Subaru and buy a wrx.

^^ Yea it seems like most ppl are happy with the Impreza, except for the occasional sqeak, rattle, and smell of burning oil. Sorry to hear about your oil burner, hope they fix it good.

Was just speaking to a '12 XV driving acquaintance who's just had his first 6th month service, they gave him an extra litre of oil in his trunk for no reason.

He said he wasn't concerned as this is his 4th Subaru and said they all used more oil than "normal" cars, he was just supprised.

Started an oil consumption test with my dealer a week ago. Sorry but the following is in Canadian:
In 560 km, i've consumed 0.6 Liters. Manual states that using more than 1 liter in 2000 km is grounds for concern.

So if consumption continues at this rate, i'll be well over Subaru Canada's allowance. Yikes.

I'm very curious to see what the dealer would do about it.

I would expect you to get a new short block engine, under warranty.

Was wondering if it was " just in case " and was on LOW on the dip stick when serviced but before the Low level Warning light " or just a bit of PR for a long time Subaru customer ?
