Are you the original owner ?
Is this in fact the original motor ?

I beleive this is a Phase II EJ25 "open deck" 2.5 litre ?

Do you have any service history on this motor ?
Have the head gaskets ever been replaced ?
Has the timing belt ever been done ?

Has the engine been subjected to Subarus recomended Coolant additive treatment (aka "stop leak in a can") that warrenties the motor against cylinder head gasket failure up to 100,000 miles ?

Do you have any sense as to what sort of miles (city vs. highway) this motor has seen ?

Thank you.

Sorry, I bought the car a week or two ago and never test it, other then the test drive.

I'll check the vin on the engine and chassis tomorrow morning. I'll also try to have DSG to do a leak down and compression if they have the time.

For now, I have no clue on the history. But the car drives smoothly with it.
