Post New and could use help. 15 wrx

So ive had my 15 wrx for almost 6 months now, and still love it every day. Recently, i installed Fortune Auto 500 coils with a few friends at school, in prep for new wheels/tires and to get used to the stiffer setup. About a week later, we went up north for a spirited canyon run, and on the way back, i could feel something was wrong in the right front wheel well. Got home, felt the strut to make sure it was still tight and in place, but then dug deeper to feel the grease from a cracked cv outer boot. Thankfully my preferred dealer warrantied the axle, but how can i avoid this from repeating? Im maybe, 1.5 inches lower than stock, and bone stock power train, so i dont understand how this could've happened. Friends think i may have just gotten unlucky lol Opinions welcomed and appreciated.

you lower the car that much and you're going to be blowing through axle boots. welcome to the "stance" world. the best course of action would be to either raise your car up to a more normal height, or consider going with RCE lowering springs on stock struts.

Correct. If you go to low the ribs on the rubber CV boot will rub against each other and eventually wear a hole. I see this all the time when kids come in with slammed cars. All it takes is a tiny hole and some centrifugal force to sent the grease flying all over the place.

That's the thing, it's not even low. Yes it's slightly lowered from stock, but we got it up in a lift to check it out, and it's at the perfect height to where the boots are almost perfectly horizontal, so there's little to no tension being applied, & that's why I'm so confused.

That's scary. My car isn't lower that much and it's doing fine so far. Knock on wood.

1.5" is a lot lower than stock. post a pic of your ride height?

My 15 STI is lowered on Tein Flex A's. I only lowered about an inch or so. Of course I paid a shop to install it as I have no where to work on my car and didn't want to risk damaging any of the hardware. I immediately had an alignment and corner balance done the next day and the car rides and handles perfectly.
