Default Stromung versions

I dont know if some of you guys remember, but last week I was having some trouble putting a stromung axleback(SS, single tip) on my RS, bought from a fellow member. The thing just did not fit, plain and simple. The flange met up and so did the middle exhaust hanger but besides that the muffler was too long and the other 2 hangers did not fit. To make a long story short I had meineke custom fit it for me by making me a new pipe for the muffler and moving a couple hanger mounts. All is good now. My question is why did this stromung not fit in the first place? boxer4racing lists the single tip version to fit all imprezas, legacy 95-'03 and forester 98-03. The axleback I purchased came off a 97 legacy. Did stromung ever have different versions of their axlebacks for different models? Thanx
