I would have done it on my own had I known it was going to cost that much; it was more about finding the time between school and work. I almost **** myself when I went to pay and was told how much it was. I don't think I'd go back, except for maybe a retune.

You can buy a good cbe for that price. Install takes about 15-20 min. Wow they ripped you off. It's literally 2 bolts. Did they at least give you back your stock exhaust?

Next time you need stuff done, ask for help from any of us. Offer to buy beer and/or pizza and you're good to go. I've had BBQ's at my house where 12 people show up and work on each others cars all day. Good way to learn about your car and make some friends.

Not sure where the second picture was taken, it's an older pic as it doesnt have a carbon hood or lip anymore. and yes, walked me pretty hard. although he did say he's never really had someone keep up like i did, kinda cool at least

Wow that's nuts.... So either it takes a pro shop with pro tools 3 hours to do what an enthusiast can do in his garage with hand tools in an hour, or they charge $300 /hr labor... Either way I'm shocked.

No no, sorry I wasn't clear... I was saying I see the car driving in Greenwich, which is where the 2nd pic was taken.... At Todd's Point beach in Greenwich.

Well those B-series and K-series Honda motors have some stupid top end pull with boost, and they are silly light. So no shame in losing especially if he was making more power anyway. Besides run him from a dig and show him your tail lights lol

Hopefully I'll see him it again soon around town and get a chance to line up next to him sometime over the summer.

Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. I don't plan on taking it as far as I did with the WRX, but hopefully a set of springs will complete the look I'm going for. And a light tint on the windows. If Subaru didn't use frameless windows I would put up VIP curtains!

Damn man, just bring it to the touchless car wash in Bethel. There are no rails that you have to line up on, no one else drives your car, and only water/soap/air touches your paint. I would rather that than leaving it dirty for 6+ months.

Winter is the only time I don't wash it by hand myself. There's a hand wash in Mahopac, right by KMart. They do a good job too.

If I don't have time to wait for a hand wash, I go to the 24 hr touch less one next to the Danbury Mall at the gas station.

^^ speaking of which... Last time i went through smoke started coming from the hood scoop which I assume was steam from the motor being hot... But does anyone see any issues arising with having the high pressured water shot in through the hood scoop in large amounts??

Edit: that was in reference to the bethel car wash

Hey Donzi...car looks great with the gravels in hyper black. Dont see that wheel too often and the hyper black matches the grey.

Just fix the wheel gap. The springs should fit a treat!

Hyper Black wheels coming my way?!

Thanks, Johnny!! I originally wanted a set of Miro 111 wheels but I'm glad I went with these. No fender work required, much easier to fit.

happens to me all the time in new milford sunoco i figure its just the water hitting the tmicand causing steam i wouldnt figure a problem unless your intake is exposed and getting soaked

I always hand wash. No automatic car washes evar.

Touchless car washes often use harsh abrasive chemicals instead of contact. While they are getting better, they certainly aren't optimal. Many of the higher end MB's actually say in the owners manual not to use automatic carwashes, as the cleaners can damage paint and plastic finishes.

Hand washes unfortunately aren't much better, as they are typically washing your car with sponges/towels used on several cars before yours. They basically just take the dirt off of one car, and rub it on another one. The towels usually aren't even microfiber...

You don't really have to worry about water hitting the engine unless the hood is open, or you have been doing a bunch of high speed highway travel. Hot engine temperatures plus water contact can cause metal fatigue and even failure.

Donzo- Not trying to be a dick, as I am in the monster truck club too. =(

Agree 1000%^^^^^^

For those of you who don't have location or tools to wash, instead of the above places, I would suggest some the waterless car wash kits that autogeek and other distributors sell for people who live on condos or tightly controlled environmental water run-off areas.

They work very well, very safe for your paint, and since it's waterless you can do it most anywhere.

ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....hot engine temps mixed with water contact aren't REALLY a concern unless the metal is being quenched. For example, run your car hard for 5 minutes. pull over and dump 5 or 10 gallons on the turbo, you'll crack the hot side. Rain or a car wash wont quench anything within the motor. not nearly enough exposure

and your M, a monster truck? -____- probably sits lower then my STi on springs lol. gotta check that bad boy out soon!

I don't drive my car in the winter, so there's no need to wash it. It just sits in the garage (this year it was a carport) and collects dust.

Sunday is looking decent as of now, so I'll probably spend most of the day giving it a good clean

Yea, that is basically what I was saying. There isn't a ton that can go wrong, but he said he is shooting lots of water into the scoop. Most of the important components are pretty well covered by the hood or covers. You can crack some metal items though if they are hot enough. I actually usually wash my engine bay with the motor running, and spray water directly onto it.

Come by sometime if you like. It has about 2 fingers of gap in the back, and 3 up front. It just looks a bit awkward on such large rims. Just need an exhaust and a lip, and this thing is looking great though. Although I miss the craziness of my STI, this thing is just so much more comfortable and nicer.

How does it handle compared to the STi? Definitely a "big boy toy" not at all a "boy racer" type car. Although the rawness and sheer speed of the STi is missed, how does this compare?

There's not much to read in there.

You bought a FP Green from the shop in 07.

Turbo had issues and was recently sent to FP.

FP says it's fake.

The shop says they buy directly from FP and to PM them.

You PM the shop and have been waiting 2 Weeks. (the shop is likely researching the issue.)

Did you call them? Email/pm them again? Show up in person?

Details man, details.

Yes and no I will not show up in person. I'm just getting the ball rolling.

You don't need details yet. They will be up soon enough. Me along with several other cases.

That's unfortunate. Unless I was getting a hell of a deal on said turbo, I would just buy straight from the supplier; ie Forced Performance.

I just want to see if anyone really cares. Poor little old me can't really affect people that much could I? Don't want to clog anything up over here with my banter just thought I would let you guys in on what happened. Carry on.

I'd like to care but there's nothing there.

"You don't need details yet" .....but you wanted to us to stir the pot? ......0.o

How many "details" could there possibly be. You bought a turbo, that wasn't what they said is was. Wow, that was harddddddd to explain.

Did you buy this turbo brand new or used? depending on when in 07 I don't think john was even there, so he may not even know anything regarding previous "business" the shop has done and how business was carried back then.

If you bought a slightly used turbo from the shop in 07, and it looked like a green. They could've been lied to about what it was, didn't care to look into it and just flipped it.

again, always down to help a local, but if you want help yer gonna haveta step into it.
