Review: TEIN S-Tech for 02-03 WRX
i just recently purchased a set of tein s.techs for my wrx. i was looking for a spring that would possibly even out the wheel gaps and the s.techs looked like they would do the job. i wanted a spring shock combo since i will be daily driving my wrx and i have not purchased a set of shocks yet because i have not yet found a set that suit my needs. the install was very easy and straight forward and the ride with stock shocks is very bearable. it rides almost as good as stock did but with an improvement in front lift during accel and front dip during braking.
here are the pics before front gap: before rear gap: before funny pic: after front gap: after rear gap: after jdm pose:

are these springs designed for stock shocks aso htye wont kill the shocks in a matter of months?
also does anyone know how these compare with eibach prokits and prodrive springs? |

the ride is surprisingly not too much different from stock. you do notice that it is a bit stiffer but its not bone jarring. the springs were designed to be used with stock shocks but with the decrease in shock stroke the life span of the stock shocks will go down of course. overall i am very happy with the springs and would recommend them to anyone that asks. i plan on upgrading to cobb tuning struts soon but they're just so pricey...

Too Bad bout the fender bender. that sucks.
Just put a Spong Bob bandage on it and give some TLC. I havent decided on what to do yet. I was thinking bout replacing my coilovers, JIC FLTA2. Ride is just too harsh for me for everyday driving. And getting some nice springs w/ koni inserts. I know I will have to hack my stock struts though..... |

I just installed my Teins over the weekend.
My impressions so far: - greatly reduced body roll - a little more understeer - keeps the front end from lifting during acceleration - feels great coming out of corners Before: After: |

I have to say I'm extremely impressed with these tein springs, the drop was perfect F:2.0 R:0.7. Fixes the higher front end illusion perfectly.I'm not dragging on anything And the regular ride is just a bit more bumpy than stock. And you feel the tighter handling when going into a corner.Best springs I've felt yet in a car. And only 160$ 2 thumbs up

Some will argue that the wagon part is the same. Tein's USA website even lists the same part: SKS34-AUB00. But the part I have is SKS30-S1B00. Honest... Here's the label from the box for you doubters out there: I bought mine from The WRX Store who had a backorder and had Gruppe-S ship wagon specifics to me. I just checked Gruppe-S and they don't even list that part anymore. Kastle's Korner has them listed. Hope that helps. |

springs vs ALK
Do any of you guys have the Whiteline Anti Lift Kit installed? Are the springs necessary if you already have the ALK? I really like my ALK, which, combined with other stiffer rear sway bar and mounts, links, and front strut bar, make my 17" Potenzas work very hard indeed. The only thing I don't like about the Whiteline ALK is the squeaking. It has gotten better after about 1000 miles, but its still annoying. Thinking of losing the ALK as my car is a daily driver and not a track car.
Any thoughts? |

My springs have only been on for five months. I didn't measure my fenders after the install, but everything still looks the same.
By sagging, do you mean all the springs have settled and dropped, or unevenly? |

does anybody have the new h tech springs from tein? They offere a slightly less aggressive drop in the front (around 1.5 or so i beleive)...seems like it would be more friendly to my 18" wheels and CF front lip.

Does any body have the Tein S Tech Springs with KYB AGX's? Let us know how the set up is. And if you have anymore pics, post them! Will the 2 inch drop kill the struts?

had mine on for a few months, no problems with my 17's kinda have to slow down a bit but really no more than I did on the stock springs. I always go diagonally on steeper
Only time ive bottomed out is when I was in a real hurry when i was trying to get to vet real fast when my dog was sick and trying to navigate the club parking lot where a building used to be. Went diagonally down a piece of concrete that was a bit to far with 5 people in the car. Scratched up my jethot coated DP real nicely. |
