*warning* never get any audio work done @ car audio craftsmen
I just got back from getting a head unit installed @ car audio craftsmen in Walnut. My WRX was just painted a few weeks ago and everything is flawless. No dings or scratches anywhere. When I drop off the car I do a check to make sure everything looks okay on the car. They get everything done about 3 hours longer than they estimate. Then I pick the car up and the install is done. I go home to get my wife and she says "where did you get that dent on the front fender?" I then proceed to check it out and notice a big ass dent on my front passenger fender. I call them up and they tell me to bring the car down. Once I get there they deny doing anything to the car and claim that the dent was already there.
Avoid this place like the plague.

You learned the hard way.
Whenever I get my car dropped off for any kind of service, I do a walkaround with the boss. If you're really paranoid, you can take pictures and have him witness it. I did a walkaround at Bob Baker Subaru in Carlsbad, and when I got the car back, there was a scratch on the passenger side door that wasn't there before. They polished it out, and did some other freebie scratch fixes too. Sorry about your car. Skylab™ |

Skylab- ya, I screwed up. I checked the car really well before bringing it over there. When I picked the car up I was too excited w/what I had installed. I was a bit too trustworthy since the place was recommended to me by a friend. Live and learn.
Stealth- thanks for the offer. I'll just use this as a learning experience for me. I'm a big believer in Karma and I think it'll get back to whoever did the damage. JDM junkyard- I think you got the info you needed when you AIM'd me. The dent is about the size of a volleyball. I was also there on saturday but my wagon is seal gray. The install seems to be ok but the damage pretty much overshadowed everything else to me. I admit that when I went back over to the shop that I was pretty pissed off and yelled like a madman, which is very much against my nature. I think that most people would be pretty irate in the same situation though. Especiallly considering I just got the car back from getting painted. |
