Question Nice new bushings on stock shifter; good step or don't bother?

I'm curious about installing either the Cusco bushings or the less expensive Kartboy bushings while keeping the stock shifter. I'd like to get some input from someone who has tried either product with the stock equipment and maybe a comparison between the two (Cusco vs. Kartboy). Any tips for a newbie?

splurge a little and get the whole Kartboy setup. It is great. It feels 110% better then the sloppy stock shifter. As for just replacing the bushing I do not think that you will be able to tell a heck of a lot a difference in feel when they are used with the stock shifter. I am not a that sure though because I did the thing a one time. Just my opinion

I have a stock shifter (MY2K) with the Cusco bushings. The shifts feel better, notchier (is that a word? ). I would try out the bushings first, then if you still want a different "feel" then upgrade something else.

I say get the whole Kartboy setup. If you can only get one at a time (bushing or shifter) get the shifter first. It shortens the throws. But, the bushing makes the shifts feel much more positive. As far as the Cusco VS the Kartboy bushings, the only difference I can see is the price. I have the Cusco bushings myself but last night I got some of the Kartboy ones I'm going to install for a local RS guy. The Kartboy ones weren't avaliable at the time I got the Cusco ones

Check out the mods section here to see a comparo of the Kartboy shifter VS stock RS also directions on installing the bushing and shifter: http://www.ImprezaWRX.org/
