If you have to ask, the answer is no. If you have no Engine Management yet, the answer is NO.

K&N Typhoon. Thats all you need to know. You can get the red crinkle finish that matches are intake runners. I love mine. The sound is absolutely awesome and factory BOV is 100X louder. Sweet. Im running Cobb AP Stg 1>93 and Borla STi cat back. No problems, cels. .
You will pick up app 12WHP. .and feel the difference. Search on this site for "K&N Typhoon" some nice posts and dyno charts to back it up along with A/F ratios. Even stock is filthy rich. . do not worry about the Typhoon leaning it out.

It's not a good idea to run an aftermarket intake with Cobbs map. You may not have any check engine lights but that doesn't mean you are not harming your engine.

CarMuv I wouldn't do the intake --- Take that money and put it towards getting Engine Management if you don't already have it.

I have been running a blitz LM short ram with my utec base map....no problems at all, never once got a knock signal and I've had this setup for nearly a year.

Do intakes cause problems with the air/fuel ratio? Many seem to believe that since their XXX intake does not cause a CEL or exhibit any driveability problems, then their XXX intake must be good. Though the apparent increase in power gives them peace of mind, what they don't take into account is their intake is actually causing unseen harm to their engine.....

just do wutever you wanna do, it's your car...

i will suggest go with K&N tyhoon... if you got a UTEC as well, great. just bring your car to dyno tune for the intake.
