Default Prices on left over 2012 Forester's?

Have some family looking at some Forester's and they found this 2012 model that's still hanging around. Apparently, it's the car the dealership lends to customers when their car is in for a big service. It's got just about 5,000 miles on it now and the dealer wants $20,966 before all applicable fees and taxes. I really don't know what the going prices are on Forester's of any year and checking the Forester section on here didn't help very much. Anyone have any ideas?

those are 5000 miles driven by what could be many different people. Personally i don't like buying cars that were used as rentals or loaners. The fact is people just don't care when its not theirs.

it's a forester... i dont think people will go CRAZY with it. its not like they'll be WOT'ing it every stoplight. When i had a forester loaner while my STI was under warranty repair, i tried to gun it at a light ONCE. it was SLOW. i didnt bother doing it again.

that said, OP...

the car looks like a 2012 BASE model with the roofrail/alloy wheel package. It's really not worth it. The next trim up, you'll get the awesome panoramic moonroof, that thing is awesssssoooommmmeeee. I used to own a 2011 premium forester. My only regret was not getting one with that winter package thing, the thing that gives you heated rear mirrors, seats, and window wipers. the premium trim also has other perks, like tinted windows.

i'd pass on this and splurge a little on a premium trim.

I wouldn't... people tend to NOT respect property that isn't theirs.

Respect to someone else can be seen as worshiping to others. Don't think for a second people don't "respect" their vehicles just because they don't take care of it in the same way that you take care of yours (or expect one should).

So you'd buy a car used as a rental?

Because I know I sure as hell wouldn't.

If I was a mechanic and couldn't afford to go buy a car from a dealer instead which is a lot more logical since I don't buy used to begin with. I buy new, not just new to me.

Respecting an item isn't the same as being able to accept the fact that 1000+ people have used that vehicle and sat in it doing who knows what with their uncleanliness. No amount of alcohol could scrub away their lack of personal hygiene. Not to mention how poorly rental car companies CLEAN their vehicles.

"No smoking" just means "make sure you roll down the windows and use air freshener afterwards" to most smokers. I hate smokers.

You could probably get a good deal on a 2013 since the 2014's are practically on the lot already.
