This build has been great from the beginning and it's getting so much better. Thanks for my guinea pig too, want to run the same set up eventually Keep it up man, can't wait to see what's next!

Sucks man. You were pushing the stock block pretty hard.

wondering if you were running the stock clutch? Also, did you do any mods to the transmission or drivetrain?

Hey guys. I was just kidding about the car. Drove two hours to the track this morning and it was raining so it was cancelled and I got to turn around and head home. Car is fine! I'll have to blow it up some other day.

lmao, you better knock on some wood... I'm just finishing up my trans rebuild now, 4500 for a complete rebuild(from R&R, to new gears, bearings, syncros) still need to order my new beatrush mounts and some redline fluids.
so no more chances to go to the track this year? |

I love the car man. Wish I had half the mods you do.
Actually, I have a question. Don't take this the wrong way but it looks like you could easily afford an STi so why not start with a stronger platform? Especially the tranny. |

Last event of the year It was only 44F when I got to the track today, so it probably wouldn't have been warm enough any more anyways. Thanks. Quote:

uuuhhmmm my 11 sec wrx trans decided to strip 3rd
got pay to play.... a lot of other factors played into it i think too, stock mounts and a 6 puck are a couple but i drove the car like i stole it for the 10k miles i had the mods done so im not shocked but i am surprised it happened so soon. |

Retail on the wrx limited is $29,720 I'm not saying anything is wrong with building a wrx. I just have a base wrx with a Cobb AP and tbe which I am really happy with for the money. |

he has a base wrx though which is like 24500. Also the 08+ 5 speeds are stronger than the old ones. I haven't found too many threads about problems with them.

yea 24k for a base wrx and 34-35k for a base sti... same difference
8-10k is still 8-10k, once you start modding then warranty is gone for the most part, i know mine was but even at about 8k in parts im running 11s on only 18 psi and still probably under what a limited STI would of cost me.... i got my car last year so there was no type of rebate, special offers or anything, either you had the bank or you didnt. |

Random questions for you xluben, I'm about to go the Steelie - 215/55/16 Altimax Arctic route through Tire Rack for my winter setup (2011 WRX Sedan).
Did you have to purchase different lugs or do the stock ones work? Did you order through their online Winter wheel/tire setup or did you call? Any regrets about the setup, things you would change? If you could answer these questions I'd be most thankful. |

The stock lugs work (generally if you need new lugs, TireRack includes them) I called Luke and confirmed everything I wanted to order, but the placed the order online. No regrets on the steelie setup. I like it a lot. |
