Default 2nd oil change? and which oils to change ...

I changed my oil at 75 miles .... and now I believe I'm ready to switch to Mobil 1 .... having hit 3,000 miles.

Besides the engine ... which other oils should I change ... gear box, differential(s)?

Drive trains create so much power loss ... might as well put the slipperiest lube as possible in ... right?

gear and diff oils don't get changed for a while. look in your manual or subaru.com for maintenance schedule.

I know I don't _have_ to change the gear box and differential oil for quite a while ... but others have suggested that it's a good thing to put Mobil 1 gear/differential oil in those units ... so why not from the "start?"

I know this subject has been beat to death, but since you asked here goes with my .02 worth. 3000 mi on your engine is probably enough break-in so go ahead & pour in the Mobile 1. If it was my car I'd wait till the next change though. As far as the gear box & diffs go I would definitely wait a while to pour in the Mobile 1. There is a fair amount of break-in that happens with the diff & tranny. Ever notice how much metal is stuck on the drain plug when you change gear oil? Those gears do a lot of seating into each other.
