Default Cant connect to ecu when car is running

I need to do some logs on my EJ207 swapped 04 Forester, however I cannot connect to my ecu when the car is running. I was able to get into test mode and flash my tune on no problem. Disconnect green plugs, have logger opened and it will connect to the ecu no problem when the key is turned forwards. But as soon as I actually turn the car on I loose my connection and it cannot read it anymore.

Any input would on this would be appreciated...Im stumped.

Thanks

Have you actually tried connecting to the the vehicle after you started it and it is already running? I don't ever start the datalogger before the car is started. I generally hook up while the car is idling.

I have. Learning view will not allow me to connect while the car is running either.

Which ECU are you using? What cable are you using? What operating system are you using?

For me to get Learning view to connect I have the ignition in the off position. I connect the tactrix, then start the software. Then hit connect, then turn the ignition on. Otherwise Learning View errors out.
