Why in the hell would you rally cross a lowered LGT Wagon. I hate taking mine over a big speed bump. Can't imagine a Rally Cross course.

Sometimes people see AWD and assume it means "ready to rock some serious mud." I always wanted to take my STI in the dirt and play, but it seemed like a really stupid idea on a lowered car with rock hard suspension and big, low tread depth 275/40 summer tires and no protection over the undercarriage... so I kept in on the pavement.
After seeing that, glad I did. Seems like kind of a stupid idea. I'm sure a LGT wagon would be fine in an autocross... if driven reasonably carefully and not lowered and such. But.... Ouch. To his credit, it is just plain dirty, so it works in this thread. Hope he gets it fixed back up. |

that's all a bummer. Some rally cross courses I've run could handle a lowerd car....for a lap or two... That course (from his flikr pix) looks pretty sweet but certainly NOT a street car course. . .
Bummer, but at least he gave it a try, props for that, but too bad for the cost of his try ooh well huh? |

Yeah, went to that thread and looks at the pics and videos... Looks like a riot. But not in that car!

It was custom piece from a shop in Las Cruces. Lift is no more, and the bumper is off, lift was 1" spacers from Subtle Solutions, on top of the Feal revalved struts with ~1.5" King Springs.

not sure where best to post (other than USMB, offroadsubarus, dirtyimpreza, etc.) in NASIOC, so here's a link rather than clogging this thread.
Trip report. . . Moab's Lockhart basin in a legacy. http://dirtyimpreza.com/forums/showt...093#post356093 Long story short I wheeled my (well and tastefully modified) 95 legacy with two 4" lifted FJ80s and a 3" lifted FJ cruiser, tackling Lockhart Basin ( north to south) IN A DAY!! Enjoy!! |

I see, I thought about getting an STI but I could not justify the price right now. I trade up every 2. - 3 years. My WRX is a stage 2 running 20 psi. One of my favorite things is when an STI try's to race me. that smile on their face goes away quickly when my car that cost 10 grand less blows their doors off.

Rallycrossing this weekend. My neighbor always asks me about it because he wants to go some time.
him- I hear it's gonna rain this weekend me- It might him- So why are you still packing?! Doesn't that cancel the race? me- only in NASCAR man. It's still on. him- but NASCAR is on tarmac... me- (laughs) I know... isn't that dumb?! him- I mean; What happens to the dirt? me- It, uh, turns to mud... Instead of getting dirty, we get muddy =D Just thought even though that was dumb, it's better than ripping on Mr. unfunni for an entire page :P |
