I was there as was DLC, Scoobyslack, AccidentT, Stimpy, and bunch more that I have no idea what their user names are. It was nice to see all the RS's in one place. Oh, and the 3 turbo Legacies (one of which is a hybrid)

I don't recall the person's name (sorry).
As for numbers, I think we had about 14-15 cars show up? I don't have any pictures to count the number of cars. -Jon |

It was an incredibly huge event, so much that the 2nd and 3rd groups had to make due with 3 runs only. There were over 120 cars.
How did i place in SM? I barely made it home i was so tired, glad i left when i did. |

Hey DLC. Did you hang around long enough for the final results? Guess who was #3 PAX.... #2 if you don't count x-class. Only got beat by Shelton and Mike V. The top ten had 6 or 7 STS guys and 2 GS guys. Suberboy ended up 10th pax even after hitting the light pole.

I have some images but they need to be edited because they are too big. Both from the meet(13 cars) and the autocross.
DLC you ended up 13th in front of the prelude. Because of that one cone I went from 6th to 11th. The best part is that my car will only get better. I need a rear sway bar bad... ARG!!! |

I don't know when he will get them up. I do know however that he was on the computer way late last night. We were swapping e-mails at 1:30 in the morning. I sent him all the GEEZ runs so he could compare my runs against his runs in my car. He was rated super high on smoothness but really low on aggressiveness. I was rated somewhat high on both. I guess that is why I won But I didn't ever get the map tweaked enough to trust any numbers. I will find out how we did after the map is tweaked.

I don't feel so bad, at least i beat that silly Prelude!
SM needs to be looked at hard next event, it's ridiculous how many cars were in it that shouldn't have been. I really need to study up on the rules so that if i must, i can bring it up. |

Buy a rule book. I have the 2000 rule book you could have but some stuff changed. Also, did you leave your camera case at the race? If so, I have it.

I have the rule book, got it at the meeting.
I did leave my case, it should say "Grundig" on the cover somewhere. |

Hey cool, you can see my car's wheel underneath that ranger in the last picture
How many people actually competed in the SM class? I know the M3 didn't look at home in SM, but what other cars looked incorrectly classed? Wasn't that S4 in SM too? -Jon BTW: I am still too broke for tires to make the next event. |

Several cars had completely stripped interiors. Which I believe is too much. You can remove the back seat but not the whole interior.
I don't want to whine about it ,but that is such an obvious thing. Not like a light weight replacement part that looks the same. |

Holy crap my car has a lot of body roll for having such big sway bars! Yes, the case has Grundig on it. It is in my trunk. M3s and S4s are supposed to be in SM Stimpy. They are exactly what the class was made for. Those are the cars that are winning all the national events in SM. Also, many cars with engine swaps are legal there, that is why all the civics with type R engines were in that class. And the type R's with cams were in that class. Also, the turbo civics were there. And I belive all those cars belong in that class. It was set up to be one of the fastest full body classes.

I know that just about most engine modifications are allowed under SM. I was just kind of curious about the actual rulings on interiors and what other cars were questionable. I don't have a rule book, so I can't check all the rulings on SM.

My rant on Street Modified. Please add to it and give your opinions. To be honest, these aren't protests as much as they're rule clarifications. If there were a car with one slight illegal part, i would not even mention it, but there are a number of obvious problems in this class. I'd like to get it straightened out because we're going to have at least 3 Subarus in SM soon. |
