Default CT Drivers: What Insurance Do You have / what do you pay?

I'm looking into new insurance, a friend (Herzy2.5RS) got me thinking and i realized I pay WAY TOO MUCH!
I pay just under $1200 / yr. on my parents insurance, that includes discounts for multiple drivers, no accidents, violations, etc. which isn't that bad, but I just got a quote for $900 from State Farm on my own policy!
So I'd like to save some $$$

What do you all have? How much do you pay?

Bry.

Im 25 with good record and pay 1600 every 6 months for my two cars. My00 RS and 02 elentra gt hatch.

I'm with metlife and have all the discounts going too.

Stupid ct law made insurence companies re-evaluate ct insurence and caused it to go up!!!:monkey:

To offset my insurence I take a car off during the winter time. drops to about 1000 then.

Hey you aren't military, or a DOD employee, or military dependant are you? If so check out USAA I pay 950 every six mos. with one ticket on my record, and i'm 24 years old. if not checkout Progressive. They will give you prices on three other companies for the same policy to give you and idea on who is cheapest.

Gieco of all people seems to be best for me. I've been with them for 8+ years, no incidents or tickets, around $1100/year for 100/300k, $500 deductables. It was only $200 more per year to have my 944 on there.

It may be foolish, but I think staying with one company helps if/when you have an issue. But I'd change if someone else could handle it for a few hundred bucks less...

I echo the USAA plug. Of course, I'm on max discounts (multiple vehicles, ahem, over 35, no claims (other than glass) in over 10 years, homeowners, etc.) If you're eligible, check them out. I've had other agents quote me - they can beat them, but not by enough to make it worthwhile.

Be careful with GEICO if you have a speeding ticket from another state that didn't show up on your driver's record. When you call GEICO, they will pull ALL the tickets from ALL the states!!! After that, even if you decide not to go with GEICO, all the out-of-state speeding tickets will remain on your record. It can raise the insurance rate!!

We pay $1990/year for 2 2002 wrx's. I am 29, and my wife is 28. We have full coverage, and all the discounts. We use State Farm.

I've got geico and am pretty happy, no tix in 4 years about 900 every six, but there is a driving factor due to something i did in the past. One more year and thats off too though. In Rhody I dont think we can get state farm.

Geico is by far the cheapest for me.

Brett, you may want to try State Farm Insurance, they've given me the lowest quote so far and that's with max. coverage!
