woo hoo 3 replys...
aw, 2 smart a$$es (not to surprizing)
yeah, I straightened out my gas cap, it might have been on cross threaded. I go to a full service gas station near the ghetto. I generally like to do it myself, but there aren't any near my place. Anways, the CE should go off by itself if tightened, right?

No, reset the ECU and you'll get rid of it.

I had a CE light because of a disconnected sensor that wouldn't clear till I reset the ECU.. even after it was plugged in and working.

I told you this earlier.. JUST DO IT!

no, the ECU thing.. not buy Nike

I've got 3 OBDII scanners at work. What did you do?
Whom ever wants codes read I am at Saturn of Westbrook, Maine. Just off exit 8 Maine turnpike. I am free for illegal activities there from 12-1(lunch). The activities are illegal because the boss does not want me doing stuff for free. He'll get over it.

Try what Fishguy said. Undo the battery, wait a minute, hook the battery back up. It wont erase the code, but will run all monitors again and then decide whether the CE needs to be on or not. If it comes back on, there is a "hard fault", meaning something is wrong at that time.
good luck

Well the CE is now off. I didn't reset my ecu or anything. I'm still going to bring it by the dealer to see if they'll scan it to find out he code. I'm thinking it was the gas cap. Thanks for the offers.

The light will go out after 3 successful trips.

The code will be removed from memory after 40 successful trips.

probably a Beta failure... a light with no part problem.
