Major fueling problem
What can cause excessive richness?
Fuel pressure is same as always. I'm running stock ECU with safc2 and itc. My front o2 was ruined with all the carbon. I took it out and am running without it. Wideband is showing ~10.8 at idle and low 9's on boost. It basically never rises above 12. All 4 plugs are showing signs of excessive rich conditions. So something is seriously wrong. TPS and MAF are working correctly (safc verified). What else could it be? I've been playin with this since Monday and I'm seriously stumped...

I went to Autozone and had all my CEL's pulled and nothing unusual.
I picked up a new front O2 and it's tstill running in the high 10.x:1 ratio anytime you step on the gas. It's almost as if it goes to full throttle (fueling wise) if you touch the gas at all. I've checked the wiring and connections for the sensor and everything is fine so I'm fairly confident that o2 isn't the problem. Could any other sensors cause this? Or could my ECU be messed up? Anyone have some input or something I can try? |

Are your settings on the S-AFC zeroed out?
Really, there are only a few things that could cause it... changed injectors (larger) without correction, higher fuel pressure, or bad settings on engine management. Even without an O2, it shouldn't run that rich. |

I haven't touched a thing on the SAFC since before I had the engine out and I checked all the settings and they are the same. Injectors are the same and fuel pressure is the same.
Do you think timing could cause excessive richness...since I did replace my timing belt. The odd thing is it pulls into open loop I get the exact EGT I did before, so it's definately a closed loop problem. I dunno...I'm stumped, I think it's time to take it to the dealer |
