OMGHi2U Skoda Libre! Rally Mexico starts March 3! (Wrestle About it here!)

Entry list: http://www.rallymexico.com/docs/EntryListMx06.pdf

Official site: http://www.rallymexico.com/

I wonder why only 41 teams competing? I was expecting a lot more teams from north America. It would be a great oportunity for US teams to try a WRC event. Do you think it's because of the money?

I know a few people who considered going. It's financially unattainable for 99.9% of US teams. For the price of doing Mexico you could do 1/2 the Rally America season, and that's as a top team in a Group N car. That, and Group N cars in the US aren't all perfectly FIA legal, even if they are Rally America Group N legal. AND, notice that there were only two Group N entries in Sno*Drift? A lot of top US guys are going to Open class, which isn't legal for any class in a WRC event.

But I think it comes down to the money - spending 1/2 your year's budget on one event, where you could of course crash and burn, is a huge gamble.

See, that wasn't so hard.

Now, I have to think up a clever thread title.

That's so not fair WM!

Here's hoping that Solbergs bad luck streak ended this past weekend.

Hey, Mopho has been for the last two rallies, I only know that cause I was there too.
When you see Mopho he likes it when you gently blow on his ear. See you all in March.

My predictions are the same as in Sweden:

1. Gronholm
2. Solberg
3. Loeb

Thats if nothing goes wrong with Petter.
Gronholm is and will be the guy to beat this season.

Eh, I don't know if Solberg should be up there. I firmly believe that either Petter or the new car is cursed; c'mon, four car problems in the first two rallies? That's ridiculous! Although he should be getting a new car for Rally Mexico; hopefully he won't mess this one up too. I hear them WRC cars are expensive.

I posted this in another thread a long time ago but, HERE is a clip of stage 9 I took last year. I would have shot stage 11 too but, I discovered the beer tent. The rest you can figure out.

Is a 50mb file so, be patient or skip it all together if you dont have a fast connection. I'll make a smaller one later.

Cold Corona and all the deep fried pork skin you could possible stand. I kept trying to tell them not to bring anymore but, they didn't speak english so, they always thought I was asking for more. 4 min later another try of chips and pork skin would show up. They served lunch too but, after the amazing food I'd had in toown it was pretty bad. The SUV and car you see in the background are on the actual stage. The beer tents were maybe 50' from the course. They had a DJ too that played really bad music all day.
