Default Tuning in the Alaska area?

Over the next few months I will be traveling around, and Alaska was going to be one of the areas I wanted to visit. I was curious if there is a need for tuning in this area, and if so, what the interest would be?

Please PM me if there is any interest out there for tuning, and I would like to consider it for my winter trip.

Tuning Cobb, EcuTek, OpenECU/Enginuity for Subies and EVO.

Thanks,

Chris

Yes, I go to Dallas a few times a year because my family is in Frisco. When I'm there, I do a couple days of tuning at Gotham Racing.

When do you suggest I come out there? I would need a minimum of 10 cars to bring to the area, you think that is possible?

Let me know,

Chris

no awd dyno up here, either road tunes or we convert the 5m/t's to rear wheel drive and tune them on a 2wd dyno, we did that earlier this year when we had Jarrad from PDX come up

ya not sure about the tuning. i know Jarrad from PDX is planning another trip up next spring time when some of the folks will be doing tuning again. if you do come up, you want to make sure you do it mid May or later when the roads are clear and the drag strip is open.

Ok, so May of next year? I have no issues with that at all. I'd like to go up sooner then that, before it gets too busy at our own shop.

Let me know what you think.

You dont have a way to do obd-I do you? So far I've come up with two options, megasquirt, or an $1100 autronic setup.

Megasquirt = Cheap and simple

Autronic = Expensive, complicated, but it works great.

No, I can't tune OBDI cars unless they are Fords.

Let me know what you think.
the problem with coming up too soon or over the winter, as PDX found, is we still have snow and we don't have an AWD dyno to tune indoors. so that means, for the MT guys to swap to RWD but the AT guys or more heavily modified need to be road tuned. that doesn't make for very good or safe conditions to do 3rd gear pulls. Early May is cutting it close, the weather is getting a little warmer and most of the snow is usually off the ground by then. Mother's Day is when the drag strip officially opens, however, they do not allow passengers when driving down the 1320.

I would be interested also, depending on what the costs are. One wrx for sure and possibly a second. Running Cobb ap on one car and planning Enginuity for the other.

Thanks for thinking about coming up. +1 on everyone's advice that you should plan on coming in May, or later. Road conditions are often poor earlier than that.
