Default Shifter not sitting in the center

Hey all, this is my first post here and really not sure how to work this site.

Im going to be swapping a 07 sti trans into my 04 wrx but the shifter is not sitting in the center(currently in a 04 wrx wagon parts car). Its located in the middle just much lower than normal. It hits the center console in 2,4,6, and reverse. It has a cobb double adjustable 6spd short shifter i believe. Ive tried adjusting the lower portion to change orientation, but the higher i go to bring the shifter more centered the more the rod connecting to the short shifter grinds on the top of the boot and sometimes cant even get into 5,6, and reverse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will be hopefully dropping the trans out of the part car in a couple days and probably ordering parts i think could be the issue.

The solution to this problem was the yoke straight off the transmission (that has the pin through) was upside down. Meaning the little bump was on the bottom and flat side on the top. Hope this helped someone
