That looks like the one that I got. It should work pretty good.

You can try at a local store for the hump couplers, but I got mine from siliconeintakes.com. The local pep boys sells them but for like $22 versus like $11 on that site.

For those of you who have had this install for awhile are there any negatives to the hybrid intake?

My experience: Increased intake noise, noticeable loss of low down torque.

After resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery I had all the same characteristics as everyone else. Such as: car wouldn't idle and shut off, low down torque was non existent, etc. After a few days of driving it, the maf rescaled and it drives significantly better. It idles normally, I have no torque loss on lower rpms. I actually notice a slight increase in power (butt dyno) in mid to higher rpms. My mpg's have also increased by 0.5 miles.

Idle issues are that common after these installs...?

my car idles very low with it, and it almost sounds like a very low volume diesel idle lol

Ive heard of at least a few people having them. It occurs every time I had to disconnect my battery, but after a day or two the maf adjusts to it as well.

It shouldn't do that, check for leaks.

It's updating the long term fuel trims, which is not a good sign. Check for leaks and clean the MAF sensor with the proper cleaner.

Care to explain why it's not good or have a link to where you probably stated this before?

The MAF scaling should be right so that there's no significant long term fuel trims. If you reset the ECU and things change, that means the post-reset values (all zeros) are enough different than the needed values that you can actually feel the difference. That's a bad thing. The stock MAF scaling is bad, but it's not feel-a-bly bad. So, you've either got an air leak somewhere or your MAF sensor is dirty.

You think this one is bad, look at the repetition in the original thread about this problem. I think there's over 5000 posts in it now and maaaaybe 20 of them have actual new information. I got so fed up I've taken to answering people with post numbers so they have to go look at the first time we talked about their issue

I read 13 pages worth of this thread and all the links were to eBay searches not specific intakes. Also I asked what worked best because I did take in what I read and there was a mix of systems using the original air box and the whole discussion of mafv recalibration. So maybe if people weren't such jerks about it....

Maybe you've forgotten what was posted here or haven't checked back recently, but he's right. I just got my Subaru and just found this info. I literally read every single post in this entire thread. All the info is old and the links are all dead. The ones that do work are out of stock. Most of the pictures posted dont show up either, adding to the confusion. The more posts you read the more controversy there is about this install.

So he's probably not joking because he's totally correct.

Speaking as the guy who invented the damned thing, there's only controversy because people are ****ing idiots. Read the real post about the problem. There's a picture there (that won't ever go away) of what you need to achieve. Order anything you can find that will allow you to achieve that. End of story.

Hmm, maybe if you look at when I posted that, that was almost 3 months ago. Not to mention, you should read more carefully as I had no issues coming up with the configuration and got all the information needed. So don't come blaming me when you noobs can't read.

Sure, there are issues that go along with the install, but then again, this is a DIY thing. If you can't even Do It Yourself, you should read carefully.

Edit:
You might be an idiot. I just went through the first page again, and found ALL the information needed.
