Aside from speaking at my brother-in-law's funeral, putting down my dog last December was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. Took me a couple months to fully recover. Sorry to hear that, had to have my families golden retriever put down about a month ago, its extremely hard but you do find comfort in knowing they don't have to suffer through pain.
