I have about 62k mi on the odo. I change at every 5k mi and I check my oil after every fill up or every other fill up. I do add or top off when needed.

No signs of any leakage and no white smoke. No CEL or anything. Car drives great and feels normal.

Well that doesn't make it any easier to diagnose. Oil disappearing but no symptoms to narrow it down.

2qts in 1.5k miles seems like ALOT. and its mysterious... Driving hard lately? But also, Rotella T6 is a 4qt jug. Not the standard 5qt... That could be the reason why?

Geez.. I'm hoping its the fault of not replacing the crush washer for the oil pan now..

Are you getting blow by?

Check your Coolant Res/radiator and see if there is any oil in it... Worse comes too worse... You may have a headgasket issue, but highly doubtful.

Picked this up recently... 09 2.5i with 103k miles. Not sure what I'm going to do to it yet but I'm pretty happy with how things are stock... I'm definitely going to upgrade the speakers, was going to get an AppRadio 3 as well but new brakes/rotors come first

Steve2.5i, if you search around you'll see that's really common, don't worry about it.

Been here awhile but thanks anyway!

I won't be doing any suspension or engine mods to this car, I just want a nice comfortable car for everyday driving. Maybe some little things like mudflaps, rain guards, HIDs.

The car actually has koni yellows w/ teins and a borla cat back which I'll be looking to swap out for stock parts if anyone is interested.

$9800 before taxes/fees... I'd been looking at the previous generation (06-07 specifically) for around $7-8k, and this came along and I figured it wasn't much more for a pretty serious upgrade.

The only catch is the head gaskets were replaced by the dealer after they got it in from a trade-in... It put me off at first, but the engine didn't blow and they were replaced due to a minor leak so I figure it works out better for me as I don't have to worry about anything happening to them for a while.

+1 check the floor where your parking and the drain plug. I didn't change the washer once, drain plug leaked 1.5 quarts in 3k miles. And right now I'm at 4k on an oil change. I burned through about 1.5 qrt. Driving harder than normal this past oil change

Oh okay. I am just about to pull the trigger on a 2009 2.5i with 11000 miles on it for about 14k and was wondering whether it was a good price.

It's a bit high imo, however I'm not sure what the market is like in your area. Plus I had been looking primarily at the last generation until the '09 came along and I snapped it up, so I don't have any research data to go on.

Also, that year/mileage means it was driven fairly heavily, at least 20k miles per year. I would be wary and have it inspected before you buy.

I park in the same spot at work and home far and isolated lol. No visible oil on the floor at either places. I did not change the crush washer this time but even when I did the last oil change at around 1300-1400 mi I normally have to fill it up.

Yeah I've searched around but its just so unsettling lol for a while I told myself that its the nature of this engine. This time the oil is just a lot lower then what I normally see, so it kinda put the paranoia back into my thoughts.

Haha, I should have been clearer. That's 11,000 miles NOT 110,000 miles

(Yes, I checked the title/carfax/autocheck reports. the service records and the DMV and they are all clean and the guy has a Porsche and a Land Rover besides this Subaru)
