When you went back to the stock catback did you need a re-tune? All you needed was that little grimmspeed 3in-2.5 adapter and donut gasket correct?

Yes you'll need the adapter. Makes it a little more rich usually but not a lot. |

Finally got some snow today! I started off the day by getting my hand caught in the snowblower (not fun), but once I got the driveway cleared out I went out and did donuts until the center diff was about to burst (not really, only a little bit of fun), and then I took some pictures!
^Even with only a couple inches on the ground there were many places where my lip was a snow plow. At speed it does a nice job of throwing snow all the way onto the windshield and over the car! |

I might have to take off the lip, I'm not sure. I'm kind of surprised it didn't get ripped off already. |

Gotcha, your build is def a nice one! Any guesses as to what it would make on pump?

I think I'd had to drop the boost by about 5psi and probably run less timing. I'm guessing it would be in the upper 300's range on a Dynojet. Maybe barely 400WHP if I wanted to push it.

I am at 27-28psi peak (tapers to about 25psi at redline). I'd probably want to be in the low 20's on pump.

How is starting the car going for you on E85 in the colder weather now?

Its odd you didn't have any issues with cold e85 starts. When temps dropped to just 40, it would take a good 4 seconds+ for my car to start. Thought it could also have been a the battery, but when I switched back to 93, it started without even hesitating under similar and colder conditions. Any idea what it might be?

Also, you should post a video of your car playing in the snow .

I was thinking I should have done that.... I wouldn't even consider going out with a dusting of snow on the ground if you have the OEM tires. Seriously. Many people have ruined their stock wheels and sometimes suspension components by thinking that the stock (summer) tires can be used in the snow. |

Love the snow pics. I can't wait till all my tires (snows on steelies and OEM with OEM tires) wears out so I can put new snows on my OEM wheels and get new larger wider wheels with new summers

I think this is probably the best way to do things. Definitely the most cost effective. And steelies don't really look bad on these cars.

Great way to do it. I've got stockers on the stock rims, my old (junkyard) rims from my Forester with winters. They barelyyyy clear the wheel wells. And dedicated autocross wheels with tires on order whenever Tire Rack starts shipping Direzza ii's

Jealous of the snow! We barely get any in the NW. Also we don't have E85 readily. Grew up with family in the twin cities and that area is the only wide-west area I'd ever consider. You got lucky, xluben, or chose well.
Is anyone else amazed that this build thread is so active and continually interesting? |
