Was just asking since I figured you had a 4" exhaust on that 80mm BorgWarner supra of yours

Got it all in. Talk about a tight squeeze.
Car runs. Just need to adjust my mid pipe for the downpipe, run the vac lines, and make sure my intercooler piping clears the hood. Can't use the piece they gave me since my stock power steering lines are in the way. Only problem I ran into is the 4" dp had a hard time clearing the AC lines. So I know at once point the AC will lose that battle. And I have an ever so slight leak on the oil drain flange between the flange and center section. It's an o ring seal so I'll have to figure out what's up. Also cracked the fitting on the top of my mishimoto radiator for the over flow bottle. Fail and sad face. Need to figure out what I'm going to do there aswell. |

May take you up on that. I waited to do them because I am going to do a vab sti rack and cooler and custom lines.
Anyway. It's all in, currently with no lines hooked up to wastegate or spool valve and the car is awfully lazy. Like 3psi at 4K and 10psi at 4500. Gate isnt opening I know as I don't hear it. I'm 99% sure it's gotta be a exhaust leak between the t4 gaskets or the up pipe to header gasket. I don't think I tightened everything down enough. But I don't hear any sort of exhaust leak sounds or feel anything. First t4/non OEM type turbo I've installed. Going to grab all new gaskets and try getting them stupid tight. Sucks but idk what else it could be. Going to start with the 2 bolt to header since it seems to be the most common, and I stupidly forgot to order one before and re used the old one. Also have the leak on the oil drain flange like I said, ordered a tube of hondabond to fix that. Last edited by WhatTurboLag?; 09-24-2016 at 03:55 PM. |

You can get a hose and put one end in your ear and use the other end to look for leaks. Works well on finding exhaust leaks.

I ordered a up pipe gasket for now, toss new bolts on aswell then I'm going to see how it is.
Hopefully i can swap it out easily without having to take everything apart lol. Then I will go from there, check wastegate vband, then check the t4 gaskets. |

I can see SP only sells the HD version now. Was the failure with the old or HD version? WhatTurboLag, thanks to share your build. Subscribed. |

IMHO, there is a best option(more robust and it'll produce less turbulence) BD-Power Turbine Diverter Valve T3-T4 And, for one who has a TS Header: BD-Power Turbine Diverter Valve T4-T4. I'd love to see a 1000whp build with this setup. Last edited by lordsanointed; 10-03-2016 at 11:27 AM. |

Super excited about this option for us big turbo guys. Can't wait to see a finished Subie build. Many thanks to WhatTurboLag for sharing his build!

I will take some videos of it operating I've worked out all the bugs and this thing is pretty crazy. Unfortunately unless I take it off and tested on another car it will not be till spring tell it's the Dyno as I know now I am for sure pushing Coolant.
Initial impressions: It's a SXE BW 8376 which is is the smallest turbine wheel. And allowed me to use the OEM BW .83 divided hot side. In 3rd-5th I'm seeing boost BEFORE 3k. As much as 5psi. The car feels awesome as it is. Now, I've only had it up to about 10 pounds but damn the car on 10 is as fast as the vf was on 23. In 2nd I see boost around 3300. All in my goal of full boost at or before 4500 I think is pretty easily obtainable. No header wrap, bone stock header, bone stock motor, no turbo blanket etc. standard routed fmic. |

How many lbs/min is this turbo rated for? These results don't sound that impressive, but very well may be if it's a massive turbo, which I don't knw if it is?

Agreed^
It is on large side flowing 75lbs but building 5-10psi isn't really showing anything IMO. Really need it to 20+ to see if it's worth it. |

I'm going to try to get it on another car soon to test.
It's still a single scroll stock header car. I feel like from what I've seen this is what TS cars are doing. But yes. Until the car is tuned and on Moreno boost we won't see much unfortunately. |

Mishimoto replaced mine, even though the pinhole leak was due to it rubbing against a support.
I.e. Installer error, I didn't notice it rubbing when I dropped it in... |

I wish I could get something like this for the P25 JDM Subaru arrangement. I think that would require an entirely new up pipe, though.

It wouldn't be worth it when you can get a divided t3 or t4 turbo and up pipe for less
