Well first night at the track didn't go so well. It was my first time with my new turbo setup, trans and USED r160 with a 3.90 gear. Launched the car at 5500, back end came out a little, shifted to second and BOOM. Broke the rear diff ;-/. new one, meaning r180 this time, is ordered already. Also, I already have an Sti drive shaft curtesy of my friend who has one laying around. All that's left is to figure out axles. I have a Wrx so I need axles that fit an r180 yet 05 Wrx hubs.

I'm glad I already thought about upgrading my rear diff as well with my 6 speed. My R160 held up well with my VF43 but 100 more horse power IDK. I just upgraded to Brembo calipers with mine.

Did you do hubs too then? If so you swapped suspension and got new wheels to run the r180?

Well I haven't put everything together yet and hoping from what I've researched 04 STi hubs (5x100) will work with the 2007 STi transmission and R180 I have. I spent too much on this whole setup to have it not work and don't feel like spending more unless I have to.

I love pictures of a rear diff that ate itself, not really.

Glad it's taken care of though.

Yeah after I ordered the axles I realized it prob would of been cheaper to just get Sti 5x100 hubs and Sti axles. Just didn't know how the rear Wrx brakes would work with the Sti hubs etc
