wideband sensor placement????
ok, i've searched but have got mixed results. i recently purchased an aem wideband gauge. today i am dropping off my dp to have the bung welded to my catless invidia dp. now the question i have is, where should i have them weld the bung? i've heard both cases (close to the turbo, and not close) i just need a clear answer. where should this thing go....
thanks and sorry if it's a newbish question, i just don't want to burn up this sensor nor i do i want it to read in-accurately. edit....just found some people saying install it 24"-36" away from the turbo. Does this sound right?

On the early turbo legacies the O2 bung is right after the turbo, about 6"-7". I've been running my WB there for a while and haven't had any problems. I'd say 24" is probably a good number to shoot for. |

most of the setups have i have seen are on top of the bell mouth for the turbo inches away from the turbo..... been doing like that for years don't have problems unless there is a bad tune on them

yea, after talking to Rick from IAG, i had them weld the bung about 6" from the turbo (on top of the bellmouth).

I run mine about 12" from the turbo. I've had it there for almost a year with no problems. Another thing to note, make sure that the bung is welded somewhere between the 10 and 2 o'clock position on the DP. If it's below this, there is a chance of condensation building up on the sensor and causing problems.
