How do you find out the status of your order?

By asking your dealer. Since you just ordered 10 days ago I would guess that they have zero information for you other than your order has been submitted.

What dealership in Denver area? Most of those stores do massive volume...

Not likely if that update is showing in Subarunet today. The car has to come off the train, then be released to the trucking company. Then the trucking company has to get it which who knows how long that will take. It is different all the time. Your dealer is in the same district as us. I wouldn't expect it any sooner than another week.

I tracked the last WRX this dealer got, and it showed up the day after the system switched it from "shipped rail" to "at railhead." My estimate is just based on that, plus a couple of days cushion. I'll report back when it actually shows up.

Ahhh yes. They are not a high volume store. Not sure why you would get put on "HOLD" other than just too many sold orders to the Denver "region" of dealerships.

There is some things going on at HQ to try and sort all this out. Please try and be patient!!! I know that is easy for me to say...

so basically if you bought from a smaller dealer, you would have a better chance of getting it sooner?

I don't know for sure. It seems that it is based on how many sold orders are put in for each "district" vs how many the plant is projected to be able to build.

There is a formula, but I don't know it

EDIT:
Region = large section of the country (6 total in the country)
District = small groupings of dealers within those regions

No worries, I can be patient

On a side note, I saw an '08ish Impreza sedan with Illinois plates and a white "Evanston Subaru" license plate frame on I-25 in Denver.

How were you tracking it?
If you have an SOA user/pass, do tell

All these stories of waiting made me glad I found the car I did.

It was at a dealer 200 miles away, and I got it the day it unloaded from the truck, with all the options I wanted.

Is there a difference when it comes to shipments and delivery if you're in the SDC area? Do they operate differently from SOA and get their own supply line? I'm still waiting around for some test drivable cars before I place an order/buy one/forget about owning a WRX.

Yes, my understanding is that SNE and SDC are seperate and have their own processes for distribution.

Alright thanks, I figured as much. I guess I'll just wait around some more and see if any local dealers will have test drivable cars anytime soon.

My wife once bought a Honda CRV off the lot. It was built in Japan too. But we didn't drive 200 miles to get it. Congrats on the ride, man!

You should test drive a used 2011 or 2012. That's what I wound up doing

It's pretty hard to find a test drivable 2011+ WRX and STi on the same lot. If I could find that, I'd go do test drive them but I really want to try both of them back to back to see whether or not the STi is worth the several thousand dollar premium over a WRX Limited.

SDC gets its own shipments in the port of Boston.

Test driving one depends on dealers as some dealers dont want mileage on new vehicles. I personally wouldnt buy a test driven vehicle myself.

Getting info on SDC orders is pretty horrible. This is from the contact I was able to reach in SDC for my order. SoA needs to contact distrbution of SDC for updates via emails. You usually wont get any information on your order until the ship is near the ship is near the port. Wait times can be extraordinary as well as my order is only scheduled to arrive at port on 10/23 after placing my order on 4/17. They are still waiting on the VIN at this time.

Hey!!!!

Glad you made it home safe! How was the Lou Malnati's? We sent your package out today, overnight with signature btw.

(before anyone calls me out on my 200 mile rule for customers this man had originally ordered a 2012 and has been waiting since well before that rule existed. Grandfathered in baby!)
