This journey began nearly two months ago with a routine clutch install. Little did I know I would reach the end with a face-melting, nausea inducing beast. This car goes like hell now and corners like a go-kart on steroids. Mark was there for me every step of the way. He helped me with my selection of parts all through the process and I am extremely satisfied with the result. He did not try and upsell me on anything and just showed me what all my available options were. Maciek is one hell of a stand up guy and by far the most honest owner of a shop that I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Not only that, but he did an amazing job with the fabrication and tuning for my car as well. And I don't know the name of their mechanic, but to me he's like The Stig. Quiet but bad as f**k. That dude is a surgeon in the shop. He changed my clutch in like 2 hours while I watched.... by himself...yup.

I can't tell you all how satisfied with these guys I am. I would consider them my friends after this build. At the end of the day, they are some good honest dudes that love fast cars and love what they do. You couldn't ask for more out of a shop. You can see the passion in their work and they have me as their customer forever.
Thanks H, much appreciate the kind words. Lets get the gremlins out of her and she'll be good as new.

-Mark

Stumbled upon these guys back in January when I was trying to decide on an exhaust for my '14 STi Hatch. That aluminum exhaust looked amazing. Pulled the trigger back in March and ordered one up. Mark and the rest of the guys do an awesome job. Nothing beats the "local hometown feel" of APM.

Had a small issue with the logo on the exhaust rattling a little bit, but talked to Mark and got it taken care of immediately. Plus a little extra tweak to get some more clearance with the carrier bearing on the driveshaft.

Again, just an awesome company/people there. Will only deal with APM when looking for parts/services from now on.

Thanks for the words Erik, it's great dealing with clients as yourself and I'm glad that we could get everything worked out in the end. I know we'll be hearing more of eachother in the relative future so talk to you soon buddy.

Also, as corny as it is, make me feel all bubbly inside knowing that we still have our humble attitudes...that's one thing I never want to change about us, that "home town feel" is really what we're all about, normal guys trying to keep a local community kicking with getting guys like you to enjoy their cars that much more.

Default Thanks to APM

My experience with APM was great. Mark transformed my car with some simple mods: sway bars, end links, rear diff bushings, and steering rack bushings (when he changed my rack for way less than the dealer).

I recommend anyone with an 08-14 consider getting their firewall welded at APM. My groaning/squeaking/popping clutch is gone, along with the premature engagement, and my car seems like a Lexus now with all the dash rattles gone.

It's a haul for me to get out there, but they are great about helping with transportation. APM is the one thing that makes me want to go to the 'burbs.

Thanks for the words bud.

I'm glad that everything is is going good on the car, hopefully that steering car and bushings have put some more pep in the car to take some turns

It was a pleasure to meet you and I know we'll work together in the future, lets get the gear oil situation taken care of and just keep moving forward with keep her planted on the roads.

NASIOC - I picked up a Blitz cat back that I knew would not fit my car because I have a TurboXS downpipe - I called up Mark at APM and got an estimate - made an appt. They modified the mid-pipe of the Blitz Cat Back by cutting it down and welding a new flange onto it. The quality of work is excellent - the welds look like factory to me. The price was fair and the work was done in a timely manner. Best shop in Chicago area.

I went to apm to get my black bug eye tuned. Mark is very knowledgeable. He took the time and was very patient. I wanted the car tuned a certain way and thats exactly how they did it.
Maciek is the tuner at apm and he also took the time and tuned my car well. He spend a couple of hours on it rather than 45 minutes on a dyno like other tuners.
they charged me what they told me they were gonna charge me.
They are quality I would recommend them to anyone!

Thanks Dave, I'm very pleased to here that you're getting good results with the tune and it's always cool to hear that people appreciate the little things. Time, finances and service are straight forward and the way we go about it is pretty black and white. We won't hide anything, nor do we want to make a million dollars by up selling you...you know what you want, we're here to help you get there! Something calls for 8 hours but takes 4...we charge you for four, same goes for when it goes the opposite way and you're paying to get those things done not only with professionalism but in timely manners with supporting service for if things don't go as planned.

Whatever you need just give me a ring, I'll remind Maciek to send those maps over as well.

It's more than just a sale at the end of the day, who cares about today, we want to plan out a year from today because making big dollars once vs lesser dollars over time is the wrong train of thought in a service&product industry.

Once again, thank you and we'll be talking soon about some future plans hehe.

I should post another review, since they did the single-mass STI flywheel conversion + new clutch for the spec.B. As usual, APM did great work, Mark provided excellent customer services from sales through pickup. Not much more to be said: great service, great price.

Thanks guys.

Thanks!

Once again, pleasure to work with you bud and I'm glad what we've been doing and will continue to do as we have has worked out for both of us.

I don't remember who but someone actually gathered up the inspiration to stop by our shop when you posted something in the mid-west section...said he stopped going to shops and almost sold the car but for some reason you were the savior from an enthusiast becoming a regular joe smoe.

We'll be seeing each other at some more events too

Default APM again ! ! !

Once again Mark and his guys helped me out. They did a timing belt replacement for me in the nick of time. May have lost my motor in the near future if they hadn't.

Thanks APM ! !

Please LMK about the parking brakes when you can.

The hospitality, customer service and craftsmanship from APM is top notch vs the competition. I would highly recommend APM to anyone looking for a down to earth shop with reasonable prices and service unmatched.

My first visit to APM I had my front windshield replaced. After A awesome talk with Mark while getting my windshield replaced I knew this was THE place for me and my 2013 STI to start our modding journey. Im currently running APMs Quad tip all aluminum catted turbo back exhaust. The sound, the look, and the performance of their exhaust is unmatched from anyother companies exhaust Ive seen and heard on GR Subies. I'll be dropping my car off next week to have APMs intake,BCS and tune done to my car. Im super excited and cant wait to get my car back. APM is THE place to get all of your SUBARU needs taken care of! I know my car is in the best hands when its at APM.

Again THANKS for everything Mark, Maciek and the rest of the APM Team!

Where do I begin? I first came to APM because of a dying turbo in my Spec B. that was leaking oil from its seals. I came on a suggestion by a coworker who had told me that I should come check out APM, who he also had sent his legacy wagon to get looked at and fixed by them. When I first spoke with Mark, the manager there, lets just say during our conversation about what options I had and what course of action could be taken to see if the car needed a new turbo or what the issue was happening, I could tell that they were a no BS shop. Honest, no fluff, and like many have said, down to earth, and you can shoot the breeze without feeling like you aren't cool enough to be in a shop.

Anyways, further into diagnosis come to find that the turbo needed to be replaced. I figured if I am going to spend the money on a new turbo, might as well upgrade it! A little back and forth with Mark, and his suggestions, he came up with to try the Tomioka Twin Scroll 20G turbo kit. Although I had my doubts and we both could not find any information or reviews from anyone on the internet about this kit at that time, I went forward and had him order this kit and along with support mods to run this on a daily driven stock untouched block.

Let's just say, this kit is pretty nice to run for my situation daily driven. Still lots of down low power, yes the power band slightly has shifted upwards, but with the help of the twin scroll, it definitely helps with the low end spool. This turbo is set currently at max at 21psi, and then tapering to 17-18, holds it all the way to redline, and its very linear. Keeps trucking like a steam engine, that seems like it never runs out of breath. I've been running this setup over a year now, on a stock block, and so far has been very reliable, which was my number one concern, and very fun as well. I am running this with a process west top mount intercooler and full boltons, pump, and injectors. It may not be the best kit on the market, and it may not be the most powerful, but the quality so far has been great, and has fully met my needs for a daily driven Spec B. Best part is, it still has more head room to go if I want to go a little more powerful. I'd highly recommend this kit if you are looking for a nice mild upgrade, without breaking open the block to support it. This turbo though, really shines on highway applications, and feels like it's got some long legs to get you quickly into the 100's. I believe it is one of the better compliments to the 2.5l engine, and should've came with this type of turbo from the factory!

Back to APM: Service, Purchasing, and just straight all around great people, I don't send any one I meet anywhere else but to Macek, Mark, and APM. I refuse to let anyone else touch my car but them. That's how much I love this shop. You shouldn't go anywhere else but there.

Thanks again guys at APM for getting this setup and I have been spending many miles enjoying this turbo kit!

Was referred by my good buddy Ian W. to check out this shop. All this time I been ordering parts online, shame on me for not supporting my local shops. I will say its rare that i get a great experience and customer service nowadays, but Mark and staff are great. I have been to the shop half a dozen times already. Got the APM blast plates/transmission braces since i was installing a new clutch and the shifts are super crisp and loving it, there is an increase in cabin noise but who doesnt love hearing the car do its thing with all other bushings and mounts. Mark takes the time to help, listen and make recommendations. I never thought of stepping foot in a mechanic/performance shop ever again, but my relationship with APM will always be there. Keep up the great work guys!!! Thanks for helping me with my build...I have a mechanic I can trust now, and I know of many more guys from the forums that go here. Support your local shops, especially this one! Your car will thank you for it!!!

Great job! Mark is a great guy to work with. Will tell you what's wrong no bs. Gets the job done right. Shop does pretty much everything car related. Great experience. Maciek did the tuning and does a great job. Had experience with other shops but none of them proved as good as apm

Another A++++ Job from Maciek, Mark and the APM Team.

Dropped my car off back in Jan to have APMs intake,EBCS,Tune and have my SMY gauge cluster with Oil pressure and AFR gauges installed. Its now May 31, 4 months later and all I can is I CAN NOT BE ANY HAPPIER WITH EVERYTHING APM has done with my car!!!! The tune is fantastic and adding the intake and EBCS really brings out the best in my lil VF48. Hands down love these guys and everything theyve done to my car.

-Stock 13.4 at 97mph
-APMs CattedTBE w/Cobb Stage 2 map 13.1 at 101mph
-APMs Intake,EBCS,TBE and ProTune from Maciek 12.84 at 106mph weighing in today 3615lbs.

Thank you for the gratitude and hopefully we can fulfill it for years to come! Check your emails when you can as well sir

Man, thank you for the kind words and honestly Omar, very good to know that you've gotten yourself somewhere that you can enjoy your work and enjoy the weather too! Would be nice to know the Leggy's are staying local but hey, people gotta move up and move on. It was always a pleasure talking with you and working with the car...though we were the only ones....lol.

Thanks Bart!

It's nice to know that honesty and integrity can still make a business move the right way. We've proved that doing things right the first time helps to keep clients informed of processes along with the knowledge and peace of mind for quality but we've also proved that IF something goes astray with a service or part, whomever it is to put the fault on, the client is NOT one of them because they are still stranded looking for the right path and looking at the finances already dropped hoping for something more from the investment.

Jim, thank you.

I've seen the progression of this car from the time it was stock and honestly, I love where it's gone and the progress you've (we) made.

Slowly but surely we're working with the car and moving towards the goals that are set, no one said it had to be done instantly....especially when there is a new member being added to the family!

Sounds like this is the place to go around Chicagoland!
I will most likely be making a trip here soon to get motor work done.
