732xGhost's 2016 WRB Base Update Thread
Hey guys, my name is Matt. I'm 27 from South Amboy, NJ. I'm new to the Subaru world, but have been associated with it for years through friends. My roots are Honda and have been an owner for 10+ years. I hope to meet some New Jersey owners to swap ideas and roll to events.
I still own a Honda, my 2002 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan 5MT that I daily drive to work. My Accord has a decent amount of work done to it, but it still fares as a great DD. I ordered my WRX in April as a 2015, but upon delivery in late June, I ended up with a 2016. Even though I DD my Accord, I love this car so much that I already have 5K+ on the odometer. All shots will be taken on my stock Nikon D3000 How my WRX sits now: Mileage: 5,827 Last but not least; the interior, that I'm love with: My CG6 Accord on Gen1 Enkei NT03 and Tanabe SUSTEC coilovers w/ 158K: 2016 Subaru WRX Base (World Rally Pearl) External: - Cobb Big SF Air Intake Internal: - Motul 8100 ECO-nergy 5W30 synthetic oil - Dimple magnetic oil drain plug Engine Management: - Cobb Accessport Stage 1+ OTS 93 octane tune Suspension: - RCE Black Lowering Springs - SPC Rear Adjustable Lower Control Arms w/ Toe Kit Exterior: - Grimmspeed license plater re-locator - Rally Armour Red/Black mud flaps - OLM LED license plate bulbs - OLM 5000K 35W HID's - OLM Headlight High Beam Alpha HD (Philips Z ES) - Morimoto XB LED Headlight Boomerang Bulbs - OLM LED Reverse Lights - Generic Gloss Black "WRX" license plate delete - Tinted Taillight Overlays - Sticker Fab 3D Carbon Fiber Fender Vent Inserts - GCS Black Fender Emblems - GCS Smoked Rear Fog Light (Not installed) - Sticker Fab 3D Carbon Fiber Rear Fog/Bumper Cover Overlay - OLM Rear Bumper Protector - OLM Smoked Front Directional Housings (Not installed) Interior: - SubiSpeed Shifter Trim Plate Emblem Inlay (Red) - SubiSpeed Wheel Inlay (Matte Black) - OLM LED Trunk Light Bulb - OLM LED Interior Map Lights - OLM LED Interior Dome Light - Husky all season floor mats - GCS Coinbox - GCS Door Striker Covers - Black Cobb Shift Knob [b]Maintenance: - OEM Spark Plugs (DIY) - Coolant Flush (AZP Installs) - Rear Differential Fluid Change (AZP Installs) -

This morning after getting a haircut, I try and start my car only to have it cranking and not turning over. After 2 tries it finally turned over, however the CEL was on. Luckily I was within 3 miles of my dealership. (Richard Lucas in Woodbridge NJ) Took it there and they got to it immediately. Found out it was a fuel injector relay. The shop used a temporary one in the meantime until the new part arrives. I asked the service advisor if this has been a common problem and he said he hasn't seen this on this model. This happened to my dad when I let him borrow my car a few weeks ago, but I dismissed it as just him not properly starting the car. lol I guess the silver lining to this is that even though my WRX is 2016, the ECU re-flash is still due on the vehicle and will happen after the fuel injector relay is installed. I got about 5 months of seat time in with this car so im interested to see how the re-flash feels. Last edited by 732xghost; 10-21-2015 at 03:06 PM. |

Nothing special with this update. I just want to document all details. Today I did my 2nd oil change. I've been using Motul 8100 ECO-nergy synthetic oil and an OEM Subaru filter. I also bought the Dimple magnetic oil drain plug. I've used a magnetic drain plug on every car I've ever owned. Still awaiting the warranty fuel injector relay part. No problems so far with the temporary one. good for the soul: Last edited by 732xghost; 08-12-2016 at 03:14 PM. |

No updates as of late. Maybe some things here and there after Christmas.
Just wanted to add that rarely do I have my dashboard displays on the boost gauge. I usually like to monitor my gas mileage instead. I've read on some builds that people are boosting pretty high. At one point I most have boosted to about 20-21psi. Seems a bit high to me... |

So its been a little bit since the last time I've updated my thread. I've had the car for little over a year now and did about 12,000 miles this year. Coming up on my 5th oil change soon. In that year my girlfriend fell in love with this car, and decided to buy her own once the lease on her 2013 Charger R/T was up. Her's is a 2017 Limited with CVT and an STi exhaust. It has a little bit too many interior options for my taste, but she likes all that. She also really loves the STi exhaust. However, I am not a fan of it in conjunction with the CVT. |

Updates and pics to come. I've added a few choice pieces to both cars since my last update. Both vehicles warranties are up. Mine due to years, hers due to mileage. Stay tuned
