How much do you think this costs?
Hey everybody. Check out this lift. Anyone have a clue what something like this costs?
Or if anyone knows of a similar product with prices. Let me know. http://www.mohawklifts.com/scis.htm How about this one? http://www.e-autolifts.com/pitstop/pitstop.html Thanks, MadMax edit to add new link [This message has been edited by MadMax (edited April 26, 2001).]

I want the one that's really bolted to the floor. That one from the website doesn't look too stable.

Actually, these lifts work great if you don't need 100% access to the undertray of a car. Doug from the NSX Files uses one, and they have swapped out the tranny on his NSX probably a half dozen times at the track using these portable lifts.
Still pricey though. Doug's portable lift was somewhere around $3.5k. Still, when you look at true side post lifts that run almost 10k, then portable lifts are far more afordable. -Dan |

there's pricing at the bottom of eautolifts page ... the pictured MD-60 runs $1850. Neither of them look terribly stable but the MD-60 would be my choice since it looks like the base remains stationary while the other looks like the base must have to move given the scissors action it has ...

On a side note. Anyone have a good hot water pressure washer that doesn't cost as much as a turbo system? Let me know and how you like it.

The Eagle scissors lift costs $1899. A much better idea if you have the overhead space is a cheap two post lift. Eagle has them for $2199 and up.
I was looking into one for my garage, but you need serious ceiling height. |

Don't think it's safe enough?
Do you think the mfgs want to get sued? Might they possibly have a mechanical lockout? If it's good for a 6,000 lb car and my car weighs 3,000 lbs, I have to believe that it would be pretty safe. --scott |
