WRX Up pipe Temp Sensor Fix?
I read in Unabombers Manifesto that there is a fix for the WRX temp sensor. I bought an Up-pipe from an '05 STI and it doesn't have the port for the WRX temp sensor. I read that with a 2.2 KOhm 1/2 watt resistor I can trick the sensor, I assume its as simple as wiring it in to by-pass the actual sensor. I can't find a write up or anything so if anyone can direct me to one, thanks!

its a o2/temp sensor~ and all you do is find the plug on the CAR side and put in the resistor from termianl #1 to terminal #2 and you are done well maybe some elct. tape to keep the crap out sir.,

Yeah you won't need the sensor because there's no cat in the UP now. Just put the resitor in the harness. Kinda like using a paper clip or piece of wire to use as a jumper. And as was suggested, use some tape to hold everything together, and keep anyhing else out of the harness.

or even better find/buy a rubber cap and slide it over the open harness and then tape the bottom open portion. just get the appropriate size

Alright cool, I just wasn't sure if I had to splice into the wire or if there was a harness like you guys had mentioned.

No splicing, just plug it in and you're set

Does the sensor unplug or do i just mount it somewhere (instead of letting it hang) and then plug the resistor in with it?

When you unplug the EGT gauge, you will be left with a socket on the car - plug the resistor in, wrap it with something to seal it up, and you are good to go. (the socket is held in place by a bracket already, so nothing will be "hanging")
