Default WTB: Tranny/Gears

My second gear just went out on my car 02 WRX... I was wondering if anybody had a Tranny, or gears laying around that I could pick up? I need to get my car back on the road as soon, as possible, 'cause I wil be hoofing it 'till I get it fixed. I would prefer to keep it as cheap as possible.
Thanks guys,
Matt.

sorry to tell you man, but second gear is not just a loose gear. There is a gear that is pressed on the counter shaft, and one that is molded to the mainshaft (or visa-versa). If the gear is stripped, it likely took out both parts, inlcluding the synchro ring. So at very minimum your parts list is gonna be something like:

2nd Gear ~50-75
2nd Gear Synchro Ring ~35
Counter Shaft (or main shaft, whichever its molded onto) ~200

Remember, these are "pressed fit" so you need an industrial sized press. So labor is gonna be ALOT. rebuilt mine using a press, and if you dont know what your doing, its a nightmare.

What im trying to say, find a used tranny... it is way less stressful, and about as cost effective.

PS, recently i aquired a blown tranny that I am going to use to make a prototype external "Girdel" which according to Transmission forum guys... it may aid in the reduction of caseflex... which is theorized to be causing second gear destruction.
