Unhappy Does Subaru give deposits back/ Anyone want my position

Does anyone know if I will be successful in getting my $1000 deposit back. It was non-refundable, but there is no way I can afford this car, now that I got laid-off.

Better yet, If their is anyone in the Boston area that wants the number 6 position at CitySide Subaru in Somerville MA. All I want is my $1000 deposit back, no additional cost, like EBAY. Its a win-win situation I get my much needed money back and you get $1000 towards your dream car.

I believe the deposit is a dealer to dealer thing not a subaru policy, some are non refundable, some dealers are not taking deposits yet, and my dealer is a fully refundable 500 dollar deposit.

In the end they really have to return MOST of your deposit. If you were to read through the agreement you have with them, it is not leagally binding. Two reasons: 1 - they cannot charge a non-refundable deposit, it would never hold up in any court 2- they could not garauntee a price or delevery date on the paperwork, basically, all it is good for is a reciept that you gave them $1000. They can keep a small portion of it as a "documentation fee", but that's about it. If they give you shiet about it call a lawyer, and do it from their office.

Call Subaru of America 1-800-782-2783.

State the facts and I doubt you will have any problem.

in MA it is ILLEGAL to take non-refundable deposits. i'll bet your dealer knows that so you should have no problems getting your money back

Let me know what happpens with the deposit. I too agreed to a non-refundable deposit here in canada. I don't plan on needing it back but just in case... I'd like to know what happens with you....

Good luck,

Just be nice about it first, just tell them as much as you'd want to buy the STi though there dealership, because of your certain circumstances you need your deposit back, then go on to say when you find another job you'll be back to buying an STi at there dealership....

If there dicks about it.....

Get a lawyer!

how did you leave the deposit?

If you used a credit card just open a dispute(sp?)

The bank will go after them.
