Thanks, that's what I thought without trying them. I guess I'll have a set of Whiteline endlinks for sale soon.

I can say I have never seen it done since a sedan has body structure in that area to take into account that the wagon doesn't.

So... how much of a reduction in usable rate is it going from an STI rear sway to a WRX bar?

I might be upgrading rear lateral links in the future, would that help compatibility to switch to the STI style links?

This in reference to using the new RCE bar on the rear of a WRX. Thanks!

Not sure I understand this first question. You mean what is the difference in stiffness between the OEM sti bar and the OEM wrx bar? Answer-none- they were both 17mm bars in 2006, iirc. If you're talking aftermarket, then it just depends on which one you buy. If you mean how much different is the rate that the bar has to bend at in each installation, I have no clue.

Any chance of getting FXT info?

Anyone know the size of the stock sways on a 2008 FXT Sports?

I worked it out a while ago....using a 20mm STi rear bar on a WRX is about the same as 18 or 19mm bar. So not worth much over the stock 17mm rear for 04+ cars.

An upgraded RCE rear bar will be a noticeable improvement though.

I think the FXT rear bar and STi rear bars are compatible....not 100% sure. Take some measurements (length and diameter) and maybe we can give you an idea.

I do know that they are the same application... STI rear and FXT rear...

I just wasn't sure how big the FXT rear bar is...

I've got progress 22mm bars F+R, R on full stiff on F on the lower of the 2 settings... The RCE bar probably would've helped!

(I let a buddy sell it to someone else for more money)

They just released their own 25.5 mm bar, 3 way adjustable for the rear.

There's a thread on it in the Vendor forums somewhere

Do you mean fitment or stock size? The stock sizes are summarized here. Fitment is the same as other GD sedans.

Ok, so I have the following setup:

Base Car: 2001 2.5 RS

Swapped Components: 2004 STI Brake rotors, knuckles, hubs, Trailing arms.

What I want to know is if coilovers designed for the 2004 STi will fit my setup? If they do not, is there anything relatively easy I can do to get them to fit?

Thanks in advance!

So I'll update with 08+ WRX and STI stuff soon. But I have hydrology and remote sensing work to do and exams etc.

If someone wants to add some stuff, i'll gladly internet high five them!

What I have read on strut/spring combo

08/09 WRX struts will fit on 08/09 WRX.
08/09 STi struts will fit on 08/09 STi.
08/09 STi springs will fit on 08/09 STi and 09 WRX.

Anyone actually put the 08 STi springs on an 09 WRX hatch ?

If so, did it lower the 09 any?
