Default Slow spool XPT stg2 /w Grimmspeed

I just installed my Grimmspeed BCS and flashed XPT stage 2 with BCS. I upgraded from the regular XPT stg 2. I have done a ECU reset but seems like the boost comes on slower than before and i could not even hit full boost in 2nd gear. My regular stage 2 worked great for the 4 years having it.

Is anyone running this map can give me some insights. How long should it take the ECU to "learn" this new map?

Is the XPT map specific to the Grimm EBCS or is it for a generic EBCS? Yes it matters. Not all EBCS function the same.

It's just from my first impressions. Maybe I just expected more. I have to do some logs when i have time, but i know the boost response is improved upon by the grimmspeed bcs. It just doesn't hit full boost in first and 2nd like what I am hearing from everyone. Also, it takes a while to hit full boost, maybe my analog boost gauge can't keep up with the boost quick enough.

But anyhow, I'll do some logs when i get a chance and see how it is.

there are ways to make a turbo spool faster.
but then it will happen in every gear..

but you could try to reset ecu.
and then go drive the car for an hour..

what is resetting the ecu gonna do to the EBCS?

the ecu doesnt learn boost control.....

Some 3 ports are just different......some take 30% to hit target boost and some take 60%......

Did you remove the restrictor pill from the vacuum hose?

How do you have the ebcs hooked up?

I have the Grimmspeed 3 port BCS. I installed it as shown in instructions and their video. top fitting to intake, middle to compressor, and bottom to wastegate.

I used new separate tubing for each port. I believe the restrictor pill is housed in the t connector, so it is not there. or are is there one somewhere else?

Also, i did reset the ECU, no luck. I have to do some logs.

Like i said earlier.....most cars need a 30% reduction in wgdc with an aftermarket ebcs...it even goes over it in the GS instructions.

However, some cars just need more wgdc....this could be from various factors....old wg, sticking wg, etc etc.

But i just tuned a car recently that took MORE wgdc on a GS unit than it did on the stock ebcs.

Basically you need to get tuned.

Just found this post when I was searching for an answer to the same exact problem.

had XPT stage II for 5 years, installed Grimspeed BCS, flashed XPT Stage II w/BCS, now car feels sluggish above 3000RPM. I will eventually hit target boost, but it takes forever to get there.

Did you ever figure out how to correct it?

Chris

This actually worries me, because it was the exact flash I was working towards. Let me know if you get it fixed.

Hey there,

So after a few hundred miles the car is more responsive at lower RPMs. It is still not 100% but I have some other issues that may be affecting it. I think the ECU just had to learn. Also, when you order the map, you will actually get 3 maps. The main map has some really low boost targets at low RPM and then the boost targets rapidly climb as you get into high RPM. the 2nd map is a 91 octane map and it's boost table seems more like the standard Stage II with higher boost targets at low RPMs that gradually climb at High RPMs. I haven't tried that map yet because I don't have a working Tactrix cable :-/
I don't rememeber what the third map is .. high altitude maybe?
