Default Formula 1 2009 - Round 6: Monte Carlo, Monaco

This weekend sees the most glamorous race on the Formula One calendar, the Monaco Grand Prix. With the first two practice sessions taking place on Thursday - and Friday traditionally a rest day - it’s the ideal round for a leisurely weekend break on the Mediterranean coast.

The Principality may be small - you can walk across it in less than an hour - but it has plenty to offer the visitor, from the famous Monte Carlo Casino, to the Jardin Exotique, to the Palais du Prince...

I can't wait, will be interesting to see how the teams do this year with slicks and less downforce. There's no more Fox or CBS showing the race this year correct?

Are you bringing the artwork out there, or just going as a spectator?

Bringing one piece for someone in the paddock but more there to drum up new biz for tour groups, sponsors, teams, drivers etc. Haven't done a trip like this in years but I couldn't ask for a better race to try it!

Don't get me wrong I love driving the course on games but this normally makes for a yawner of a race. That being said I will still watch qualifying and the race live.

Lucky me, they just gave me SpeedTV HD last week. F1 isn't broadcast in HD anyway is it?

Fuji TV does it for the Japanese GP, that's about it.

Speed HD is an improvement for sure, still a long way to go. 16:9 is really nice for auto racing.

At least Speed is utilizing the widescreen.
Like, I can't even see what they're talking about when they do side-by-side comparison shots of new aero bits on my 4:3 signal

Did anyone else see the bit about all the buttons on the steering wheel? Among all the other things they do, shift, kers, wing control, balance etc they change the differential setting for every corner That could get mighty busy at a track like Monaco.

Massa had mighty impressive car control on several occasions but if that car handles like that in the race he is going to hit something.
