lol I had something similar happen cept; we were goin at like 70 mph, and he passes me over a double yellow line, so I honked at him b/c he almost hit me when he came back into my lane and almost hit on-coming traffic, so I flipped him off and felt the brake check coming, and when he slammed on his brakes I had already downshifted and passed his @$$ on the shoulder just to avoid hitting him... well the big tractor trailer behind me wasn't so lucky... So I pull over and come to a quick stop and the guy gets out kicking and screaming at the truck driver... like it's the truck driver's fault, and then after kicking the truck a few times and cursing like a mad man... he turns to me and realizes I'm out of my car in my trunk (getting my first aid kit), so he comes storming, and I mean legit running at me screaming "you [insert long string of curses]" so I hear him and look and see him running at me so I pull out a 18" long open ended wrench that I just happened to have in my trunk at the time and pointed it at him and said "If you take one more step towards me or open your mouth even ONE MORE TIME, I'm gonna beat you within an inch of your life and have the truck driver help me throw you through your windshield feet first so it looks like an accident! SHUT the F*&K UP and get back in your car!" As soon as he saw that wrench it immediately stopped dead in his tracks and put his hands up like I was gonna rob him... and after my lil "motivational" speech he got back in his car and didn't get out till the cops got there.. I gave the truck driver an ice pack for his chest (seatbelt) and we got the story straight b/c he saw what the guy did too. Then when the cops got there we both told him what happened and he cited the guy for the following: Wreckless Driving, Improper/Illegal Passing, Speeding, Attempted Assault with a Motor Vehicle (attempted on me), Assault with a Vehicle (on the truck driver), Purposeful Property Damage (Bunch of Dents on the Side of the Truck the size of his foot), and finally Attempted Assault (when he ran at me). They arrested him, impounded his car, and best part was that the responding officer was a family friend. This went to court and the only thing that they dismissed was the Assault with a Motor Vehicle. The rest of the charges stuck, b/c (get this) the guy that he almost hit head on was an off-duty officer who turned around b/c he saw the brake smoke. I got a call to appear as a witness and the guy was staring at me like I ruined his life... he didn't do any jail-time but he was paying fines upwards of $20,000 (and w/e else he got sued for prolly), lost his car (which was a S-Class Benz), had to goto mandatory anger management classes for I forget how long, and they suspended his D/L for 6 months pending the outcome of his anger management classes. the court wanted me to give my address as a witness, I was like "hell NO!" lol That's the best story I have.... by far.... Justice Served...

I hate when I'm cruising down the parkway 55 - 60MPH in the far right lane because I really don't feel like driving fast and a soccer mom or some other lady in a HUGE SUV speed up behind me and flash their lights so I'd get out of their way. Like, seriously? They usually get a nice finger show from me and slower driving.

I think every time I'm on 676/76 in Philly at night, I see at least one person driving without any lights on. If I get next to them, I usually honk a few times and point to the front of their car. They get the message and then I usually give them a few head shakes and a thumbs up.

i think it's more to do with the fact that newer cars have dashboards that are always lit up, thus they think the headlights are on, where as on the old cars. lights aren't on, you cant see your speedometer.
what i hate the most is people with high-beams on blasting my face, and as i flash them back and honk they have no idea |

this happned the other night. so i was chilling in the right lane and i see head lights coming up quick. so i chill waiting for them to pass. but then they ride my blind spot (pet peave) so i press the brakes to let them keep on trucking. its a little civic with fart cannon. and intake. you can always tell when you hear their intake go into overdrive and vtech pops and its not really showing. all you get is the ringing in the ear from the exhaust. so i slow down even more cause at $4 a gallon its a waste of time and money. i got annoyed. quick. all i hear is WOT no throttle WOT then no throttle again...liek dood for real.. makes me rethink having the STI wing and a hood scoop. and an A pillar.
story ended when i gave him what he was looking for, i dropped to 3rd and finished at redline. shortly followed by his long awaited ricer flyby. im also a fan of seeing people text and just holding my horn. freaks them out. i cant wait to get Hellas. |

I'm a fast driver, so if someone is coming up behind me and flashing their lights like they want to get by me or they're riding my ass... I get out of the way. When I'm in a crazy hurry, I do the same thing to people and usually they get out of my way. If you're in the left lane and someone obviously wants to get by you then just let them. It's the safest thing to do and there is 0 reason why you shouldn't try your best to get out of their way. What will eventually happen is they will get frustrated and try to go around you on the right and who knows what risks they are willing to take... just let it go.
The only time I flashed my lights at someone and they didn't move over was in southern Jersey. I was driving my father's 2001 Impala down to MD since they had just moved. I went around them on the right side, and this van full of thugs sped up next to me rolling down the window and motioning for me to pull over, swerving into my lane and stuff. This went on for a few minutes and they weren't paying attention to the road in front of them. Finally, they hit what looked like a muffler hanging out on the shoulder and blew out their left side tires. I didn't slow down to see how bad it was... I just laughed and kept going. |

Do you really need to flash your lights though?
I always get over when I'm cruising anyway.... but I totally agree and really think they don't teach slow/fast lane anymore during drivers ed. Also old people really need to get retested. Often! |

Flashing your lights is more polite than riding on someone's bumper.

Yea I see it being more of a " hey bud. Gtfo of my way" followed by the truckers style haz flash for a thank you. And a lot safer then trying bumper bully people. And old people just need to stop driving. They are more harm then good. =\

They really should make people take road tests more often and have them get progressively harder as you keep taking them. I swear people don't know how to drive now-a-days, its pretty terrifying. What really bothers me are people that do below the speed limit, next to someone doing the same speed and not moving over blocking the whole damn highway. Or one of my favorites are people that jump out at a "T" section making a turn from a stop sign on to the main road and cut in front of you, to only go slower than what you were traveling before. You know cause they couldn't wait the 3 seconds for you to drive past them before they jumped infront of you to do 10 under
I don't mind people that like to drive fast in the right conditions, we all do at some point in time, but when you cut to the right across 3 lanes on the highway to pass two slow lanes, then swerve 3 lanes back just to pass them nearly hitting 4 cars without signalling once, I think its time to slow down and wait for your lane to open up. I don't understand why it's so challenging for people to drive properly, using turn signals, using the passing lane, staying on your side of the double yellows etc. it's a major fail. |
