I've had it with hockey.... Bring on the UFC!
I'm off the bandwagon. I just can't handle the frustration of watching those Nucks fail to perform (Not including Lou). But what a great UFC tonight! Good scraps and lots of drama!
Since i didn't get to cheer for the Nuks Scoring - I'll cheer for Knock outs! Hmmm... Maybe a UFC meet!!

I was hoping to buy a Canucks flag and support them, but after tonight's game . . .good god. Changed my mind and saved $10.

We all knew it was going to come down to game 7 but we just hope that it didn't. my ankles are fine... Tonight at 8 rinks our team was down 5-1 in the first and we won 8-6... Hockeys like any sport or game, it's not till the 8 ball drops, or you hit the Ace on the river, or of course the fat lady sings till it's done. |

not a bandwagoner here, just a realist.
all things being equal, dallas has more experience and more championships under their collective belt. they have the edge in that respect, and in the intangibles that experience brings. i love the canucks and will root for them forever, but even the most diehard fan MUST realize this team will be hard pressed to go far in the playoffs this year. also, can we/the media/???? stop pumping kevin bieksa as a good offensive defenseman now? 16 PIM in 6 games is dreadful. and his penalty directly resulted in the winning goal in game 6. you can't score from the box. as for UFC, i can see neanderthals on the history channel. I don't understand how cro cop did not break his ankle or rip something in his knee by the way he fell on it after he got knocked out. I mean even Herb Deane looked sick at the sight of his leg.

Really I was more wondering how his head is still attached to his body. I think most people after a blow like that would be talking like a three year old after that one..
I think the reason his knee/ankle was fine is if your knocked out your body goes limp so your muscles are relaxed and not tensed up with force on them. |

If you don't want to know, don't read the rest!!!
The Cro cop shocker!!! Woah! who'd a thunk it?! great style match up and one of the best knock outs ever! Cant belive buddy got up and walked out.... I thought he'd be riding the stretcher out! And the lightweigts were great! Mike Bisping made a greaht showing finishing with a very strong ground and pound. All this and its not even pay per view! Spike TV FTW! |

ya even with your muscles going limp I can not belive that rotating your ankle 90 degrees and have it be wedged underneath you would not (a) rip some tendons or (b) break some bones in his foot or something, I guess he is pretty flexible. I found it ironic that he is known for his lethal kicks and then he gets taken down by one.

I'm not a Canucks fan. And becuase I am not biased towards them I can say that the Canucks have the most fickle fans in Canada by far. Hey I know my Leafs sucked this year, even without injuries to 4 key players for 2/3 of the season (which any team would suffer if it happened to them) they probably would have been ejected in the 1st or 2nd round. Do I still fly the blue maple leaf, **** yeah. Win or lose I like em'. That said since the strike I have had a lot less passion for hockey, so any jabs at the leafs or anyt other team I happen to like doesn't really bother me. |

I think buster is right about the "fickleness" of Canucks fans. I came to the revelation last night that being a true Canuck fan is all about the stress and lack of blind faith. That's why we love it. Being up 3 games to one, and then ensuring it goes to game 7 makes it all the more exciting; and besides, what would we complain about if they did things right?! Being ridiculously inconsistent is just part of the emotional roller coaster ride
I am usually driving the wagon, even when times are tough; but I never refuse a few more riders, and they can feel free to hop on and off as much as they like. All part of that BC hospitality |

good call Shawmacs. Vancouver does have fickle fans, but it's for many reasons that I don't want to get into right now. As it stands, I'm happy for the local team. If and when they lose, I'll focus on other things, but to sit their and judge those who are "on the bandwagon" is fxxking arrogance at it's finest. What's wrong with following the local team when they win? Especially when you take into account that most of those "bandwagoners" have REAL lives and REAL responsibilities? To Buster, It must be nice to have the time to focus on your local team, THEN have the time to post about how you're a better fan than someone else. |
