Considering the rarity of them and the special nature - how much can I expect to get them to knock off the price or add to my trade in value (realizing the game between the two). Is it simply what they say and thats it? Any tips greatly appreciated. Apologize if this post is inappropriate/off-topic for this thread.
Doesn't hurt to offer less than they are asking. If they refuse to budge on price you could also refuse to take a lower trade in value on your car.

One dealership told me $36.5k for a limited and I'm hoping I should get at least 20k for my 2008. According to edmunds, 36.5k is around invoice. So I would assume that is a decent deal? The one I'm looking at now though includes a shorthrow shifter whcih probably pushes it closer to 37k.

I like everything, but the tail lights. Not a big fan of the smoked out tails, but my opinion doesn't mean ****. All that matters is that your happy with it.

Anyone else in NH/south VT/Western MA interested in getting a 3M clear bra? If we can get a couple more, I'm going to approach an installer about a potential group price.

I wasn't going to get the tails done if they came out like that sh***y dull black color. But they came out super clear and clean, so I'm happy.

Interesting... for 2013 DGM STI Limited with short throw shifter and wheel lock (options on the one I'm looking at):

---------------------------
Edmunds
---------------------------
Invoice = $36.7k
True Market Value = $37.3k

---------------------------
True Car
---------------------------
invoice = $36.9k
True Car Value = $36.5k

Invoice difference appears to be that True car includes "Regional Ad Fees" ... edmunds "advertising fee" says "Unavailable"... the value diffs are obviously due to whatever algorithms/data sources they are using... not sure which to believe.

Anything under $37k would prob be a good deal. Good luck.

Idk how anyone goes a thousand miles without goin over 4k rpms. Im somewhere inbetween a hard break in and a soft lol. 60some miles and ive hit boost a few times. No redlines or anything like that but its definitely a fun car and worth the money. Those of you still waiting hang in there its definitly worth the wait.

Just a reminder its my car and my money keep your negative comments to yourself.

I'm at 600 miles, have done some strong pulls through the gears to about 5000 rpm so I know I've hit boost, though I mostly keep it under 4k. It's tough though.

Same here. I did a few harder-ish pulls through the first 60 miles but tried to keep it to a max of 4-4.5K. It just wants to go faster. Can't wait for that first WOT pull!

I'll post pics soon. 60 miles on it so far and I'm fu*king loving every second. Boost is amazing, 2nd and 3rd gear are too much fun. I'm going to get in trouble with this car.

1. Drive car off the lot varying load and engine braking. Pull through gears 1-5 increasing throttle from 20%-80% progressively up to 5 k, engine brake back down...for 30 miles. Let car cool down to ambient temp, repeat one more time.

2. Drive normally shifting under 4k as much as possible,lots of engine braking, no cruise control. All of this til 1k

I'm stage one at 1100 miles, haven't lost a drop of oil so time will really tell since it is low mileage. I feel this is a safe medium between a hard and light break in. I'm no engineer but it makes sense to me to introduce a little bit of boost/higher rpms if that is what the car will be doing somewhat frequently. You don't walk to get good at sprinting.

I used a similar appraoch with my 2008 and after 44k miles it loses almost no oil and drives very strong (not that I really have anything to compare it to though). However, on engine braking it makes a grindy/rattling sort of noise that I have always wondering whether was normal or potentially due to the somewhat aggressive engine braking I did during break-in. Any thoughts?

Obviously without actually experience this situation I can't give a great diag, but it kinda sounds like a clutch issue. Maybe pilot bearing. But like I said I'm just throwing darts on this one.

Yeah, well, it's been doing it forever and there hasn't been any change in it - which makes me think that it may not really be an actual problem... I periodically do a clutch test where I put it in 4th going at low speeds so the idle is very low and then stomp the gas to see if the clutch slips (I think this is a decent test of the clutch no?) and never have an issue. Someone mentioned the "throw out bearing" before - not sure if that's the same as the pilot bearing.

I'm a bit nervous about that noise as far as when the dealership evaluates the car for trade in - I'm also a bit worried about their impression of the incredibly loud, annoying noise the stock tires make (I know it's the tires because my winter tires do not have the issue). I could easily see them thinking it's wheel bearings.

Pilot bearing is the support bearing for your input shaft. Throw out bearing is the bearing that sits against your clutch fork. The throw out bearing, if bad, will usually only make noise When you have the clutch pressed in (no load on the bearing). The pilot bearing will make noise when there is a load reversal (when going from throttle to engine braking).
