Another 42 Autosports 3.0RS, EZ30D Swapped GC Impreza
For Round 3 in the EZ30D Swap Department we have another 2001 2.5RS to take apart.
First we needed to start taking it apart. We removed the engine, wiring harness, some interior stuff and the headlights and grill. Next we prepped the H6 for installation. The headlights, grill and wiring harness have returned! The owner no longer wants his STi Hood Scoop so if anyone is interested let me know. An empty dash makes it easier to get the wires where they are supposed to go. With most of the wiring done the dash beam goes back in and it starts looking like a drivable car again. The engine goes in and runs great! Keep tuned for more updates. Right now we have to install the cooling system, finish the wiring and get the car back in the hands of its owner. Thanks for checking it out. Miles Email:[email protected] -----------------Website:www.42Autosports.com------------------Call:704.425.3044 Check Out 42 Autosports On Facebook

This is number 3. First was an 07 2.5i and the last one was a 2001 2.5RS.
We reused the stock 5MT in all 3 cars. So long as your are not launching at 5k the trans should last pretty well. Last edited by 42Autosports; 12-02-2010 at 12:31 PM. |

I know your first swap was a Haltech; what about the next two? Are they stand-alone ECUs as well, or are you using the stock EZ30D ECU?

Miles, what did you do for the radiator on the three cars? I have Dylan at DS1 making me one but he hasn't finished it and my R will need SOMETHING at some point at least to let it start and move around. Also if you happen to find a cheap source for accessories I'd Appreciate it. The PS pump is different and I haven't checked the AC yet.

I think a shortram would be better.

uh, why?...there is a reason every racecar that can, does have a pressurized via aero intake box
Right now that monster scoop is just a drag and lift enducing machine. Not to mention that it would technically be a 'cold air' intake then too. |

The scoop is for sale. No STi scoop intake will happen on this car. |

The radiator is in the stock location, as is the AC condenser. It was necessary to use (2) 12" slim fans in place of the stock fans, otherwise it is all in stock locations using stock Legacy parts.
Here are some photo's of Jon's H6 car we did over the weekend. The big difference in his car is that we set up the fans to push instead of pull because his car has no AC and thus no AC condenser. This install was the same as our previous H6 cars. A stock H6 Legacy radiator in the stock Impreza location using stock H6 Legacy radiator hoses. |

Depending on what you want to do with the car it can significantly increase from there, e.g., built motor with turbos, high-compression NA Build, stand alone ECU, 6 Speed swap etc. PM or call for more details. |

Miles I was asking about the motor accessories. The PS pump, AC compressor, and the bracket for the AC and alternator(I have a ps bracket already)
