Default First Tune Ever!

Went to dyno comp in scottsdale and have them install a Tsudo Catless DP to match my Tsudo S2 Catback and AEM CAI. End results are...
300 Tq and 275 Hp at the wheel. So 405 Tq and 371 Hp at the crank.

275/300 at the wheels is a little low for a stage 2 STi, but solid numbers nonetheless.

Also, be careful throwing around those crank horsepower numbers you calculated, you'll have some big shoes to fill once you say you drive a 370hp STi, because most guys that know about modded cars are going to assume whp numbers.

Being the owner of a 280whp speed3, I think I'd about die laughing if I were at the 1/4mile and was trapping the same speeds as the guy saying he had a 370hp sti. I always quote whp numbers if anyone asks about my car.

Did you do a baseline on the same dyno before? Im curious to see the increases on the same model dyno.

I posted "crank" numbers to see what you guys thought. calculated those numbers from what dyno comp said to use. They said take wheel numbers and multiply by 1.35. I'm not sure on the method, they claim the awd dyno setup has a 35% loss factor. But I'm just doing what they said. What numbers should I be seeing? If there's a better way calculate crank numbers I'm open. Unfortunately I did not do a baseline.

If you use 25% drivetrain loss and work backwards, the numbers you posted are pretty accurate if you want to use crank numbers.

Multiplying by 1.35 doesn't mean they have a 35% loss factor. Most AWD cars will be around 20-25 percent as stated earlier. So just do WHP/(1-AWDLOSS).

So in your case, take 275 divided by 1-.25. So 275/.75. Gives you about 366.6 crank hp.

A 35% loss (which is way too high) would be 275/.65, which comes out to 423. Sorry, you don't have a 423 hp car though.
If you need proof of that, find a 425hp camaro SS that's stock and weighs at least 500 lbs more than your car. It'll put bus-lengths on you on the freeway.

no i completely agree. but the 275*1.35 = 371.25 isnt far off from the 275/.75 = 366.66 . anyone know why dynocomp would tell me to use X x 1.35 equation?

Cause they know two things.
1. There's no exact number since you're guessing.
2. The outcome will NEVER matter and crank numbers are utterly pointless and used by the ignorant or marketers anyway.
