In that other guys defence, the G37 needs to be replaced with the jdm 370GT badge

Edit: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Skyline
Wikipedia is probably the easiest way to understand the cars changes in body styles.

Yeah, but i assume the poster didnt realize that the same car is actually called a skyline. Prob just assumed it was just as stupid as putting a GTR badge on a Mustang or something.

Personally Ive actually grown much more tolerant of people putting the JDM badges on their cars. Assuming they've put the correct badges on their model, it's actually kinda cool. If I ever had a DC5 integra (which I wouldn't), I actually may consider putting Honda badging on it. It just bothers the heck outta me when people put the wrong badge on, i.e. GTR, sylvia (when they most likely haven't done a swap), and type-R civics.

I put a "turbo" badge on my lawn tractor. It added 5 HP

Its not really any different than anyone on here with a pre-2004 Impreza that says STi on it anywhere.

Personally, i would never go out of my way to pay money to re-badge my car. Esp to re-badge it as something it technically isnt, but, thats just me. Get rid of all the badges!

Yeah, I've never really liked people putting STI badges on any of the models that we didn't get STI versions of here. Just go badgeless if you've done a swap or a ton of upgrades.
It is a bit silly to go outta your way to pay money for all the badges, they're often not very cheap either.

Umm, yes it is. STi isnt just a trim level to a car, its a parts house, like TRD and Nismo.

Edit* read that wrong.

I know this, but someone with a bugeye slapping at STi badge on the trunk is the same thing.

What of that person has legitimate STi parts, whether take off or STi aftermarket? It's not the same as putting a evolution badge on a lancer

My bugeye wagon has a version 8 sti swap...does that mean putting an sti badge on it would be ricer?

And for the record, i have no badges except for the blue subaru logo in the grill

Many people who aren't handy pay places like RackAttack good money to install their racks, and thus leave them on permanently

I never said it was rice, i was saying the opposite. That putting the "skyline" badge on a car that actually is badged as a skyline elsewhere isnt exactly rice. I wouldnt do it, but, its not my car.

*Disclaimer* I'm not trying to set any precedents and obviously my word is not "law", just an opinion.

No, it's not "ricer" per say. But I think there's a bigger difference between trying to make your car look more Japanese (like it was originally designed), than trying to make it look like it has more power and performance than it really does have. Unless you've completely swapped every single part, carpet, belt, hubs, etc. to an exact match (waste of money), then your car is never truly an STI. This bothers me even more when people make M3 clones and slap the badges all over it. The clones and the swapped WRX/RS--STI are great cars, and many of them have been made better but they're still never that original model.
^^the badgeless is the way to go, looks great and since you've modded it, you've made it unique. Now embrace its own identity and have fun blowing people away when they think you have a 2.0 and you're really smugglin' a 2.5.

If you read what my posts i never claimed to have a problem with someone doing it.

If you have a bugeye or older impreza with STi parts or whats basically an STi clone, sure, put the badges on if ya want.

You were the one who started the whole debate saying that the g37 is american. Which i never claimed it wasnt, i was simply pointing out that the same car (basically) is actually sold as a Skyline. So, there for, they must use some of the same parts. And based off the above post of yours, that makes it ok to badge a g35/g37 as a skyline.

Putting an Evolution badge on a lancer i would def consider rice.
And if the g37 also had a GTR badge, then that would also be rice.

There are over 4,000 Subarus registered in Boston, and I haven't seen a ski rack on one in nearly two months. And I don't think the chick driving was a salt water fisherman.....It's just lame, and on such a nice car, it's tragic!

Guess that means I have to take my gtspec jdm sti grill off my '02 that has the sti badge on the grill. While I'm at it, i'll take off the jdm sti hood scoop.

I shall neuter my car to please the masses.

Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist. I see them, usually by people who barely know how to fuel up their car.

A kiss.

Originally, the Saab emblem:

Then I riced it up, JDM-style:

Then got rid of it altogether.
