As am I. This is the first time since getting my license that I don't own a fbody. It's usually the morons in HS or just out of it that act like a douche and think that because they own a beat up fox body that its fast. Loved running them when I owned my 3.8 v6 and tooling on them. Even the 4.6 would fall to a little v6 lol. Poor ford owners.

Not my taste but I wouldn't deem it as rice.

I wouldnt want to hate on a fellow bugeye owner but that scoop has no place on that car. There are a couple other things that arnt my "cup o" with that car but that scoop is the big glaring one.

Carbon fiber hood makes it rice. The car already came with a aluminum hood which makes that hood pointless. The giant whale tale is borderline rice too. It adds drag and weight. I say borderline because some may deem it esthetically pleasing which may be enough to push it out of rice territory. But, it's close.

this has a carbon fiber hood... and trunk...and wing...

I don't think a carbon hood makes that bugeye rice, but there are other elements that do.

I'm just pointing out that the carbon fiber hood doesn't make it rice.
"Carbon fiber hood makes it rice. The car already came with a aluminum hood which makes that hood pointless."
That exact full blown race car had an aluminum hood as well and it was switched to carbon fiber. Roughly the same weight, probably wasn't needed, but it was done.

that has a carbon hood and isn't that bad.
I think it's just a combination of things that make a car rice, not 1 thing specifically

Sick. Car is sick.

Rice can be tasteful sometimes. It just can also (and very easily) be over done. Carbon fiber parts (trunk, hood, mirrors, body panels, interior, whatever) can look really good. As long as it matches your car. Are the parts worth the money for a DD car? Probably not. But at the end of the day, it's your car. IMO, I like lip kits, lower'd cars, window tint, and carbon fiber parts. Oh and ofcourse some tasteful +5 HP window decals lol.

Here's a question to ponder, what's worse.. A riced out car (within reason) or every idiot with the cambered wheels with 3pic st4nc3 br0! Hellaflushdickballs. Lol

It's obvious that we all have a different threshold of rice. Taking your race car example:

- the hood is reverse vented which makes it functional. I see no functional vents on that bugeye. Subjectively speaking, the CF hood being the only CF part on the car makes it rice, especially since the scoop is not. It just looks poorly executed, hence my opinion.

- the trunk and the wing on your race car are most likely significantly lighter than the stock parts and most likely offer better aero dynamics and produce more downforce. Seems functional hence it is not rice.

I stand by my original statement. Having CF parts does not automatically qualify for rice. It's the execution and combination of all parts together that does.

You guys also need to take into consideration on the topic of composite material parts. There are real carbon fiber parts and then there is the 98.9% of carbon fiber weave over fiberglass parts that everyone has that thinks are real carbon fiber parts.

Even though it appears to be real carbon fiber it has none of the benefits (weight/strength) you get from actual composite material. If you have a real carbon hood you probably spent quite a bit more than $XYZ on it, it probably was more like $B,IGG money.

Spotted this Corolla with a sweet wing yesterday while driving home from work. Wish I could have gotten a better picture. Guy was driving like he was in need for speed.

While this is absolutely stupid, I don't hate these style wings on all cars.
