It would need a lot more refinement and some ass kissing, but if I were in the proper position I would send something like this...

Dear Ferrari, Toyota, and RedBull,

We would love to have you join the LeMans / American LeMans series. For many a season Audi has been the cream of the crop in our P1 class. While both Audi and the fans enjoy watching their fantastic creations dominate in astounding fashion we believe it to be in the best interest of the sport to provide competition.

Your participation in our series would create an overwhelming jump in interest and popularity. We also believe that participation from new, major teams may entice other occasional manufacturers such as Peugeot, Bentley, and Aston Martin to field cars for a full season. With teams already fielding cars from ten different manufacturers (Porsche, Ferrari, BMW, Chevrolet, Panoz, Dodge, Acura, Audi, Mazda, and Ford) the addition of your teams and brands could very well catapult our racing series to the most diverse and competitive racing series in the world.

Blah, blah, blah, ass kiss here, promise some rule revisions there....

Sincerely,

IMSA/ALMS

The problem is ALMS is not a series any of them would enter. Having less than a full F1 field over 4 categories and only having races in the US won't interest them at all. There just isn't another series like F1 (that races on 4 wheels/road circuits) which is as worldly or as well known as F1 is. Its not going to be simple to replicate this at all.

Anarchy is going to be better than the current and proposed regulations.

IMO, they should've just left everything alone circa 2004. From 2005 onwards, technical and sporting regulations changed too often.

Cornering speeds were too high in 04/05, they had to change something. The bigger problem has been when the rule changes have occurred, not that they occurred at all.

And? Yes the cornering speeds were high, but how was it that they all of a sudden became unsafe or too high? How high is too high? It wasn't like 20-25 years ago where the cars were putting out in excess of 1,000BHP and have the protection of an egg shell if something went wrong. Honestly, if they were that concerned about driver safety then they would've allowed them to have more mechanical grip without sacrificing aero to balance it out, smaller sidewalls and bigger wheels and larger anchors, even though it means they'll be able to go faster, but at least they won't be risking safety by making the drivers having to push harder to get the same results. They've come a long way in driver protection since 1994 so they shouldn't hurting technical development as much.

I think it wasn't about the speeds of the cars in general, but the speed of a car driven by Mr Schumacher. He was too awesome and some people didn't like that.

They were "all of a sudden too high" because drivers were breaking their backs when hitting walls. They knew the cars were only going to get faster, and had to reduce the speed somehow. The cars were putting out 1000 HP out of the 3 litre engine, and were hitting 5g's all over the place. Giving them more grip would just make them faster and put the drivers in more danger, the exact opposite of what they wanted.

Schumacher had nothing to do with the rule change either, I don't know what you're getting at with that. The only rule change which has come around because of him was points going to P8.

Actually, that was one of the few times I've ever felt sorry for herr Max. You could tell he was a bit choked up after the condolences.

I put the tv on mute because I didn't want to listen to his voice... so I don't even know what was discussed... but I assume it was his untimely loss based on your post, which i do feel bad for...
